I love this good! It is so soft and warm and exactly what I was expecting. Amy worked really hard to make this for me and get it here before Christmas. I will definitely order other items from her shop.

A happy return customer! I had been eyeing this cowl after re-watching the Starz TV series 'Outlander' and was struck by how much all Amy's work looks like it could be worn in the Scottish Highlands - be it the Hollywood version or the actual geographic version! Amy's work and craft[wo]manship is second to none. This cowl is like a big, warm, yarny hug! Thank you again, Amy, for sharing your amazing talent. Hopefully other crochet-challenged Outlander fans discover you like I did!

Echoing the review on another item I purchased in this order, this is my new favorite shop! Amy was just fantastic to deal with and oh em gee, this cowl is flat out amazing. I almost want one in every color possible now. Amy, thank you AGAIN for your on point customer service and sharing your talents with the world via these beautiful items.

My new favorite Etsy shop! Amy is AMAZING and her talent shines through. It is truly a lovely piece (and so soft!). Purchased as a gift and I know the recipient will be as in love with it as I am. Almost don't want to give it as a gift but I guess this means I'll just have to order again, drat! ;) Super fast shipping and just one of the best all around Etsy transactions I've had in a long, long time. Thank you!!

About

Dreamer of the Dream

Hello and welcome to Mabey Baby – home of tactile pleasures and functional, yet beautiful and modern, crochet and knit accessories, blankets and more…

My name is Amy and I am the sole maker and designer of the products in my shop. Everything is handmade by me in the comfort of my smoke-free, home studio. My husband and I just moved from Nashville, TN to Columbus, OH. I'm so happy that crochet is such a portable medium...

I learned to crochet from a dear, sweet lady that I met when I was living in Arizona and serving as a missionary in that area. I loved sitting at her side while she told stories and taught me how to hold the hook and the yarn. I became fascinated at how a simple strand of yarn could be intricately woven into something that was beautiful and functional and soft and warm. I was hooked (pardon the pun). And what I found that was most appealing, was that the art of crochet was very relaxing for me. I could lose myself and my troubles, whether it was the softness of the yarn that took the sharp edge off daily cares or the rhythmic motion of my hands as they manipulated the hook - it was almost hypnotizing. Crochet is by far, the best form of therapy for me.

The idea to open a shop began to form a few years ago, but it took my husband’s unexpected job loss last year, to spur me into action. Since then I have continued to add new items to my shop and I’m adding new skills in my arsenal to continuously improve Mabey Baby. Providing a positive experience for my customers throughout their buying process is my number one priority. Exceptional customer service, a high-quality product and the love and attention that goes into each of my handmade items, are what I want to be the hallmarks of my shop.

Please let me know if you have any questions about my shop or my items. I choose the materials with which I work with great care. It has to be something that I myself find exceptionally soft or just an amazingly unique fiber. Quality is of the utmost importance. For me, yarn is all about the tactile experience. I will not use cheap, scratchy yarn to save some pennies on my end and I want to make things that will look and feel amazing for years to come…

Thank you for reading my story and for taking the time to peruse my shop! Please feel free to message me with any questions or just to say hello!

Mabey Baby is indeed my baby in so many ways and I'd like to nurture it and help it grow. And I love Buddy Holly, so the name seemed fitting. I've been a wandering minstrel and tortured artist. Creating is in my soul. Now, just a girl and some yarn.

Please read the item descriptions and look at the pictures closely. I try my best to accurately describe the products and to take pictures that truly show the item off as they are. It is the aim of Mabey Baby, to provide a quality product, but if you are unhappy with a purchase you have 5 business days to message me, if you feel an item has been horribly misrepresented. Refunds will only be granted once I have received the merchandise back from you in it's original condition. All return shipping costs will be paid by the buyer of the merchandise.

If an item arrives damaged, contact me immediately. Please take photos of the damaged packaging and item and send to me so that I can open a claim with the US Postal Service and to arrange for the item's return. I will resend the merchandise to you, unless it is a one of a kind item that I cannot reproduce. In that instance I will issue a shop credit to you in the amount of your purchase. You will not be charged for shipping that item to you if the postal service damaged your original shipment.

All custom orders are final.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items are handmade by me. Some of my items I am able to recreate. Others, I cannot because I was only able to purchase limited qualities of particular varieties of yarn. If there is an item that you see and would like it in a different yarn, please message me. If I have the yarn in my stash or can still purchase it, I would gladly make an item to your specifications. Please be aware that some yarns are available in limited quantities or may have been discontinued, thus getting a quantity sufficient to finish a garment may be difficult.
