About MadeByBrad
-
First, the glass is covered with tape, then etched on an Epilog laser.
-
Once etched, it is sandblasted for the highest quality etching possible.
-
It is then cleaned, and inspected for any possible quality issues.
-
You can see the quality, clarity, and crispness of the etching.
-
Then it is wrapped in bubble wrap and/or other packaging materials, boxed up, and shipped out to you.
To me, it's all about the quality
I got started etching glassware as a lark, something fun to do for my own use. I received a glass as a gift, but the etching quality wasn't good. I knew I could do a much better job, and I've always enjoyed making and building things. Soon after, other people saw my work, and asked to buy some.
All my life, my attention to detail has seemed to be greater than that of most of the other people around me. I notice little things, little details, like when two pictures hanging on a wall aren't quite at the same height, or when something is a little bit off-center, and I can't read anything without noticing if there are any spelling mistakes, I can't help it -- they stick out to me like a giant flashing sign.
This is highly annoying to most people, so I keep these observations to myself, but it does really come in handy when I'm making things. It allows me to create very high quality work, because chances are, if there's even a tiny issue or error in an etching, I am going to notice it. Then I just remake the item, and 99.9% of the time, every customer of mine receives an item with the best quality work I can do etched onto it. If I sell you something, I want the quality to be as high as possible.
I'm not the biggest shop around, and until very recently, it's just been me working on these items, all by myself, start to finish to shipping them out. I now have a part time assistant who helps out, but I still personally make each and every one of these etched items.
So to me, it's all about creating high quality etched logos, monograms, text, and photographs. Please look at the photos my customers have uploaded on their reviews for the best examples of the work I do.
Thank you for reading all of this, and thank you as well for visiting my Etsy shop!
