Inspiration and Imagination, Made Magical
Hace unos años, mi nieta recibió una muñeca de Nuestra Generación. Le hice algunos atuendos de algunos restos que tenía tirados. ¡Ella los amaba!
Después de superar algunos de sus atuendos favoritos, Emily dijo que deseaba tener atuendos para sus muñecas de su ropa vieja. Así que utilicé el material de sus artículos desechados para hacer ropa de muñeca. Una vez más, ella los amaba y sus amigos dijeron que también deseaban tener ropa linda para sus muñecas.
Hice y vendí algunos artículos localmente y descubrí que los padres estaban luchando por encontrar ropa única, de calidad y hecha en los Estados Unidos que fuera asequible. Entonces, con toda esta inspiración de una niña y sus amigos, además del respaldo y el aliento de mi esposo, hijas y otros nietos, ¡nació Made Magical!
Afortunadamente, aprendí a coser, tejer y hacer ganchillo cuando era niña. De hecho, mi hermana y yo hicimos nuestra propia ropa de muñeca, además de vestir a un par de cachorros y hámsters, también.
También diseñé y creé los vestidos de novia de mis hijas, así como los vestidos de bautizo, primera comunión y baile de graduación para mis hijas y nietos.
Estoy disfrutando mucho haciendo algo que aprovecha mi lado creativo y lo encuentro muy gratificante. Dado que este es un cambio tan grande para mí, las ventas han sido lentas, pero todavía estoy aprendiendo, aprendiendo sobre ventas, marketing y ser propietario de un negocio creativo.
A few years ago, my granddaughter received an Our Generation Doll. I made her some outfits from some remnants that I had lying around. She loved them!
After outgrowing some of her favorite outfits, Emily said she wished she had outfits for her dolls from her old clothes. So I used the material from her cast off items to make doll clothes. Again, she loved them and her friends said that they wished they had cute clothes for their dolls, too.
I made and sold some items locally and found that parents were struggling with finding unique, quality, US made clothes that were affordable. So, with all this inspiration from a little girl and her friends plus the backing and encouragement from my husband, daughters and other grandchildren, Made Magical was born!
Thankfully, I learned to sew, knit and crochet as a young child. In fact, my sister and I made our own doll clothes as well as dressing a couple of puppies and hamsters, too.
I also designed and created both my daughters' wedding dresses as well as Christening, First Communion and Prom dresses for my daughters, and grandchildren.
I am thoroughly enjoying doing something that taps into my creative side and I'm finding it very rewarding. Since this is such a huge switch for me, sales have been slow but I am still learning - learning about sales, marketing and being a creative business owner.
