About

Simply Josephine

Well I guess my shop story goes back pretty far. When I was 10 or so my cousin taught me how to bead rings, and I thought that was pretty cool. So I went to the library, and checked out a book on beading, and soon I was making earrings. Growing up in Alaska there are lots of tourists, so I started selling my beaded goodness to them. The first time I set up "shop" it was a tv tray and my earrings. I sold out, then I was hooked. In high school clay was my medium, I made several clay pots and sold them in local galleries. After high school I moved to Montana, where I live now. I thought soap and candles would be nice to have and make. So I gave both a try, the soap stayed. Candles were not my thing, I guess. Then I had my children, and took a break from my creativity. When my daughter Josephine was about one and half, I decided to make soap again, and its just been getting better since then. About that time frame I read this totally inspiring article about aprons, and decided well I need to break out the ol' sewing machine. So I did, and here I am. Making and selling aprons, bags, soap and salve.
