Loading

Note from shop owner I'm sorry I missed you (July 24-August 2) but I'm taking a little break to enjoy myself at a family reunion and get re-inspired! I will be re-opened August 2!

If you can't wait until then to see my quilts, check them out here on my Flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/annsymes/ or my blog www.magpiequilts.com and I will "see" you when I am back online!

Thanks for shopping Magpie Quilts!

About

Quilts for every room in the house!

I feel humbled to think people really want to purchase one of my quilts! Often, while I'm sewing, I think about why I love to make things and who or what encouraged me along the way. Sewing, crocheting and knitting were part of my crafting skills and I made doll clothes, blankets and gifts for those around me as well as for myself. I remember going on a school field trip and one of the parent supervisors had brought along her fabric hexagons and was making a tea cozy - I no longer remember the purpose of the field trip, but the process of turning bits of fabric into a useful item was burned into my memory.

Like many quilters, my first quilt was for my first-born (he's now 28!) and because it wasn't made from quality materials, it didn't last past the 2nd child! The second quilt was a double wedding ring quilt that was made from sewing scraps. It took 9 years to piece together by hand and to hand-quilt. Sometime along the way, I discovered rotary cutters and tried easier patterns and have made many more quilts.

I love that my Etsy shop allows me to connect with quilt lovers around the world. Working on custom orders with someone long distance is one of the most rewarding parts of Magpie Quilts. Here's what some customers had to say about their experience with Magpie Quilts.

"I am truly happy that I worked with Ann on making us a very special one-of-a kind quilt for our wedding. She is truly talented! Her professionalism is excellent and her quilting is meticulously beautiful! The best experience I had on Etsy! Ann, thank you and stay wonderful! " - AK

"Absolutely delighted with quilt - beautifully presented, beautifully made and arrived swiftly. Thank you MagpieQuilts - I will be returning for another quilt when small daughter moves into "big bed"!" - CW
