If you can imagine it, we can make it in glass!

Welcome to Maid on the Moon Studio! We are a family-owned and operated stained glass studio based in Wheaton, MD. My parents opened the studio in 1991 and I joined them in 2002.

We specialize in distinctive, original design stained glass as well as reproductions and adaptations, ranging from large windows and skylights to smaller free form sun-catchers and jewelry boxes. Attention to detail and great imaginations translate into excitement and joy while working with clients to help realize their vision.

In addition to our own creations, our extensive experience and knowledge in repair & restoration allow us to regularly support the efforts of many antique and architectural salvage businesses. We also receive referrals from studios throughout the Washington DC and Baltimore metro areas, working with architects and their clients to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

At Maid on the Moon Studio, our belief has always been:
If you can imagine it, we can make it in glass!

Hi, I'm Katie Kirk. I've worked with stained glass since 2002. When I'm not in the studio, you can usually find me at home, spending time with my husband and our two cats. I also enjoy sewing, collaging and event planning.

  • Mike Owens

    Owner, Creator, Designer

I'm Mike Owens. I started doing stained glass work over 40 years ago as a hobby. In the early 90s, I quit my sales job to make stained glass my life's work. When not creating glass pieces, I enjoy golf, reading, and spending time with my family.

Additional policies and FAQs
PLEASE DO NOT use suction cups! Ever! Other people may say it's okay, but really, it isn't! The UVA rays of the sun deteriorate the suction cup material until eventually it becomes brittle and detaches, sending your beautiful new piece of stained glass crashing to the floor. We have had to repair too many pieces that have been broken in this way.
*We highly recommend using either a nail or a cup hook in the wooden frame around your window (or securing it in drywall with an anchor) and hanging your stained glass from that. The peace of mind it provides is worth it!

To clean your item, all that you need is a soft cloth. An old tee shirt works really well. Gently buff your stained glass until all fingerprints and marks are gone.
**NEVER use Windex, it reacts to the wax polish we've applied to your piece, makes it cloudy and can corrode the patina.

Check out our website to see many of the stained glass creations we've made over the years!
