Ancient Techniques - Contemporary Design

I started making jewellery in 2011, experimenting with a range of techniques I found appealing, but once I discovered chain mail, I quickly became addicted and dedicated myself to learning how to craft a wide range of weaves well enough to be proud to offer, and was also thrilled to be able to turn some of my designs into tutorials for several issues of Digital Beading magazine.

I love finding new ways to use old weaves, and different materials to incorporate into my pieces. My primary goal is to produce quality items at an affordable price, in an eclectic range of tastes and styles.

I like to work with most materials, though stainless steel is a preferred medium, with niobium and sterling silver also favourites. I use a mix of saw cut rings sourced here in Australia, as well as some imported machine cut rings. Wherever possible, I use nickel-free metals. I also test each and every piece to ensure the closures on the rings are smooth and won't cause any issues such as catching on clothing or scratching skin.

All of my pieces are packaged in a black satin or velvet gift bag, which is customised with a logo tag, making it presentable as a gift as soon as it arrives.

Welcome to Maille Addiction, home to an exclusive line of handmade chain mail jewellery and accessories. Each chain mail piece in my store is indivudually handcrafted by me, link by link. I try to cater to a variety of tastes & budgets, and love working with metals of all kinds, but stainless steel is a definite preference, and I'm inspired by a fairly eclectic range of styles. I hope you find something you love!

I gladly accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale

Please if you have any problems with your order.
Returns for any reason are accepted within 14 days of the buyer receiving the item, and a refund equal to the amount of the item price can be provided once the item is received back in the same condition as when sent - original and return postage costs won't be refunded.

If an item is not delivered due to an incorrect address being provided, or refused due to customs charges, a refund of the item price only can be provided once the item has been received back.

If an item is lost in the mail, faulty or does not match the description, please contact me directly for the most appropriate resolution. Depending on individual circumstances, either a refund, repair, exchange or replacement will be provided free of charge (any costs that may be incurred by the buyer to return a faulty item will be reimbursed).

Accepted payment methods are PayPal and credit cards or gift cards via Direct Checkout.
Shipping
Australian purchases ship at no additional cost. Some international shipping prices quoted are for standard air mail via Australia Post - this service is traceable but does not include online tracking. I am happy to ship via a trackable service upon request (additional costs may apply). At my discretion, some packages may be upgraded to registered shipping (at no additional cost to the buyer).

Please note that customs duties and import charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost and may be payable before delivery of your order. These charges are levied by local customs offices and are the buyer's responsibility. I advise checking with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.

Shipping time within Australia is typically 2-5 business days to major cities, and up to 15 business days to remote areas.

International shipping times can vary between 1-6 weeks, with an average of 3 weeks - please allow at least 4 weeks.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am very happy to accept custom orders for chain mail work (not including clothing or scale armour), and can work with a wide variety of materials, weaves and specifications. Wherever possible, I prefer to complete custom pieces and give give customers the opportunity to view, approve, make changes or decline the work, with some exceptions, including bulk orders, personalised items and pieces requiring precious metal, in which case a deposit or payment in advance may be requested.

Please note that for environmental reasons, I do not include printed invoices with orders unless requested, or required by the destination country's customs office.
Privacy
Information I Collect

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

• as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

•Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
