Maine Salty Girl is a Maine-based online shop comprised of a small group of beach-lovin' gals who choose to make a living doing what they love! Salty Girl creates Maine-made driftwood items that are crafted with care and tons of love.
Growing up in York, Maine, folklore has it that Cherie Herne, the creative heart behind Maine Salty Girl, is part mermaid. Using her graphic design education, coastal wild spirit, and passion for the sun, sand, and sea has earned her a successful online Etsy Shop that has generated upward of 9,000 sales.
The crew at Maine Salty Girl has become known for their authentic, hand-crafted driftwood and sea glass wreaths. Using local natural resources, the salty girls craft stunning, one-of-a-kind driftwood wreaths, handrails, signs, and beautiful wedding arches.

I'm an 8th generation native of York, Maine, and DNA results have confirmed that I AM part mermaid! After six years of having my Salty Girl shop, I have been able to live and work a salty lifestyle full time! I feel very fortunate to have an occupation that allows me to paddleboard to work!
Stay salty,
Cherie | a/k/a Salty Girl 💙

5 out of 5 starsSo delighted with the beautiful piece Sherie and her team created! And her customer service was impeccable. She expedited the order for a small charge so i could give my friend a gift on a certain date. Sadly the first piece broke in transit (UPS- boo) but she immediately made a new one and shipped it in 3 days so I got it on time!! I altered the first piece a little so it could be salvaged (wood glue) and she let me give my friend both pieces! What a wonderful customer service model! Thank you so much Sherie!

5 out of 5 starsMy 20 Maine beach stones are quite beautiful & soothing to look at in their small grouping. Each was chosen carefully to compliment the rest of the group & I couldn't be more pleased. There had been a delay in their arrival & the seller tracked down the shipment for me & made sure it got to me. Thank you. I will be returning

Lyme Disease has a Silver Lining!
Hi There! I’m Cherie, CEO and Founder of Maine Salty Girl.
Born and raised on the southern Maine coast, beachcombing has always been a profound source of rejuvenation and inspiration for me. After years as a graphic and web designer, the decision to make a lifestyle change was set in motion by a Lyme disease diagnosis, and the Salty Girl brand was born. Life is better at the beach, after all!
Leading the industry in driftwood decor, Maine Salty Girl offers everything from wedding arbors, to handrails, to DIY craft kits. (If you don’t see what you’re looking for, send us a message! We’d love to work with you to create a custom order, specific to your needs.) Run by a few beach-loving babes with a passion for art and all things “beachy”, our creativity, skill, and attention to detail can be seen in all of our creations. Each piece of driftwood, sea glass, etc. has been hand-picked by our team and has its own unique story to tell.
Shopping online can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Every Salty Girl item is crafted with care and built to last, a brand you can trust. Thanks for stopping by!
Stay salty,
Cherie (a/k/a Salty Girl)
