Hello everyone! My name is Misty. Here's the story of how Majickal Thangz came to be my reality.

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Nevada. In this I learned to live my life around the seasons and nature. I learned to sew, can foods, make jams & jellies, and to live off of the land.

When I was 16 I thought I was all grown up and moved to Oregon. I soon realized how wrong I was. Before I turned 17 I got pregnant for the first time. During that pregnancy my grandmother taught me how to make jewelry. We made jewelry together, and sold it at Pow-Wow. This is where I learned that I loved to make things, and to see other people delight in finding my creations.

During my first marriage I was a stay at home mom. I created jewelry, cross-stitch items, plastic canvas goodies, jams, jellies, and so much more to help feed our growing family.

Jump forward past a bunch of dead end jobs that paid my bills, a second marriage late in my 30's, and a sudden rash of major medical issues. I found myself unable to work at a regular job physically. I started driving for Uber Eats to support myself and my children. During that time I met a wonderful woman who was in the process of opening her own brick & mortar shop. She agreed to sell my jewelry at her shop on consignment. I helped with the painting, setting up of displays, and so much more. Because her metaphysical shop was a dream to me. By the grand opening I had moved up from consignment artist, to shop manager, to partial owner. It was a dream come true!!

After 2 years of being a partial owner of such a wonderful shop, my health took a turn for the worse again. A simple surgery that should've had me out from the shop for 6-8 weeks, turned into 8 months of me not being able to go in and attend to the shop. With a broken heart, and the promise of a continued friendship, I decided to step down from Gaia's Workshop Drums.

So here we are. Back at home, still making my hand made goodies. And starting from scratch all over again. You can say that this shop is the culmination of my entire life. It's a slow start, but it will grow to be something quite fantastic! Here's to a new beginning!
