About

Believe in What You are Interseted In!

It all started with creating gifts for my terrific Gulf Coast freinds. This special group of friends encouraged me to begin using my gift giving ideas into Makana Art which means "Gift Art' in Hawaiian. Over the past four years Makana Art has grown into an art trend along the Southern Gulf Coast.

Retail Locations:
Ocean Springs, MS:
*Mary C. Okeefe Cultural Center
Biloxi, MS:
*Biloxi Lighthouse Visitor's Center
*Makana Art Studio
Dauphin Island, Alabama:
*Blu Revival Surf Shop
*Mac-n-Dee's Gift Emporium

My inspiration comes from the sea and all of my art is created by sculpting pottery that looks like it has been stored in the ocean sea and has been recently discovered by divers. The clay sculptures are adorned with aquatic creatues and all pieces have been fired with food safe glaze and recycled glass in high fire kilns.

All of our pearl and leather creations are classic and timeless and are made with the beauty of the sea in mind.

Our bath products contain sea salt, another derivative of the sea.

We also raise our own herd of huacaya and suri alpacas who are guarded by a llama and their fleece is used for all of our fiber art products.

Check US Out Online @ www.MakanaArtStudio.com for classes and our Facebook page!

Makana Art Studio is open for viewing and demos by appointment and we also offer art lessons.

Mahalo to all who visits us hear online! :-)
