MamaJodiapersandpads' Shop Policies
I am a cloth diapering mama, who decided to make diapers for my second little darling. After many requests, I have decided to offer a few on line.
My father was in the fabric wholesale business and was forced out of business due to the manufacturing of goods in China. It is extremely important to me that my product be made in North America, and as much as possible, with fabrics made here too (even my thread is manufactured in Canada). All of my products are made with fabrics and notions made here (except for the wipes). My diapers are all made of north american components except for the snaps and the all natural rubber elastic. Otherwise, it was all manufactured right here to encourage local businesses and to minimize our collective carbon footprint.
I use only the best materials, and eco friendly material whenever possible.
What is the point of using cloth diapers when they have had a huge carbon footprint (made with pesticides, shipped thousands of miles, unfair wages). So, my cost to produce them is very high. The only way I can offer them at these prices is by sewing them myself (at an unfair wage)!!! I love cloth diapering and it is a pleasure for me to make them. My time is limited, with my newborn son and my feisty daughter, so they are, and will always be, available in limited numbers.
I hope that there are others like me who love etsy and share the same philosophy :)
I accept paypal payment only.
I refuse to make any money on shipping, as shipping from Canada is always way more expensive than from the US. I will always combine shipping (and reimburse the difference if over a dollar- but if the shipping you paid is under by less than a dollar, i will pay that difference- the reason i dont deal with sums under a dollar is because the paypal charges make this cost prohibitive). It is the buyer's responsibility to pay for insurance, which is always included in the upgraded quotes . Insurance is not included for small items sent via lettermail- so if your shipping is under 5 dollars, your package wont be insured. I can not be held responsible for the packages once they have been accepted by Canada Post.
As of April 1st: MaMaJo has to start charging for shipping supplies. Polymailers are expensive , as are the little envelopes to hold the labels in. As such, I will now be charging 50c extra- my shipping cost stated in the listing reflect this change. Sorry- I have paid for all of this in the past and now hubby says No More!
Refunds and Exchanges
Due to the hygienic nature of these products, I can not accept returns. If there is a problem, please contatct me directly and I will do everything within reason to make it right. I pride myself on excellent customer service and I want all of my customers to be satisfied customers.
Additional Policies and FAQs
I usually make the order within a week. I make every item by myself. In the event of unforeseen circumstances (in otherwords, sickly kids), I guarantee the product will be mailed out within 14 days.
** MaMaJo has been crazy busy with very little time to sew as hubby has a new job. So the only way I can keep my shop open is to allow myself a two week grace period to complete your order- especially for diapers, as those take the most time to make. Sorry- but I thought I would have to close and many of you wonderful MaMas told me I should do this instead of shutting down. **
Most orders within Canada will take under a week to arrive once shipped. In the US, if sent regular mail, it will take at least 2 weeks. I usually ship monday so if you got your order in by thursday- it should ship then. If not, I will do everything in my power to mail your order ASAP as canada post can be so slow.
Please be aware that I dont add cutesy notes on cute letterstock, ribbons, twine, stickers, etc. to the packages. Although I love this stuff, it does not help reduce our carbon footorint or waste. If you want me to add a little something because it is a gift, please ask me to do so and I will, but by default, I refrain from this practice for our planet.
I am often asked for additional rebates. This is very difficult as my cost is very high, as I use high quality materials. Most diapers take me 1-1.5 hours each to make, and well over 50 percent of the purchase price is cost. Factor in etsy list fee, terminal fee, and paypal fee, laundry and gas, and very little is left over.
For big orders, I can offer some free things like wipes, but then again, in small numbers only. I hope people can understand this :)
