About Me, Mama P
I grew up in what used to be a small town in Minnesota. I married my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful, energetic and loving kids. Growing up I had a very loving and supportive family! My mom and dad are the best parents anyone could ask for! I grew up with two older brothers and a younger sister. My mom was very talented and very crafty. She started crafting right around the time I was born and it became a job she loved doing! She not only was able to use her amazing creative talents and make other people happy through her work, she was also able to stay home with us and watch us grow up.
Looking back at my childhood, I love that she was always home when we got off the bus from school. I want that for my children! A little less than two years ago she was diagnosed with stage four cancer. This last Spring she lost her battle with it and she is no longer in anymore pain. Growing up with someone as talented as she was, I learned a lot of skills. She taught me how to paint, how to stain and how to give something that final touch. My dad was the craftsman behind her creativity. He taught me how to run the saws, how to sand and how to assemble and put things together. My parents were like a well oiled machine, working together to make beautiful products.
With all of the talent and skills that I have learned, I wanted to start up a small business of my own. So I created Mama P's Place! I want to use what I have learned from both my parents, to keep my mom's memory alive and be there for my children, like she was for me.
