About

beautiful + eclectic vintage for your home

Mamakea is NYC based online boutique specializing in curating eclectic, unique, and special things for the home.

If you are in the NYC area and see something you'd like, let me know and I'm happy to arrange local pickup!

My name is Amber and I'm a longtime employee at Etsy since 2008. In my time away from the office, I'm passionate about frequenting estate sales, thrift stores, and flea markets- it's kind of like being an anthropological treasure hunter! My passion for the hunt is where my Etsy shop - Mamakea - got it's start.

I grew up with a family that had an appreciation for the design and craftsmanship of things produced in another era. My grandmother had and an antique and gift store growing up, and I grew up frequenting flea markets and thrift stores with my mom. These trips were partially out of necessity, and partially out of my mom's appreciation for beautiful old things.

After I began working at Etsy, I was so inspired by the Etsy community and all the beautiful things here that I decided to open my own Etsy shop. I feel very proud to be able to share my love of quality made goods and to know I am rescuing and giving new life to items that are still beautiful and purposeful.
