Custom and personalized orders
We don't currently offer personalizations, but there's another Etsy merchant that makes beautiful brass name plates. I recommend getting the adhesive option and placing it directly on the frame. You could also buy a label holder and write or print text on a nice piece of card stock. Just google "label holder" for options.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Our maps come wrapped in modest brown paper - with a nice note attached. Although it's not gift wrap, we think it looks nice! No receipt is included.
We can also add a special message to the card. Please just message us with details!
DIY mounting
Honestly - it's not easy to mount your own map on cork or foam board. We do it for a reason! Took us awhile to perfect it ... but if that's your preference, we recommend getting adhesive 3/16" foam board from your local art store. There are also some frame shops that take care of it for you. Lastly, you could also use a spray adhesive.
Note: the "map poster" is less expensive because it's only the map printed on thick matte paper. We also offer maps mounted on foam board and framed.
What is the difference between map posters and framed maps?
Map posters are a great DIY option. Map posters are our maps printed on thick matte paper and carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube. Once your map poster arrives we suggest you mount it on foam board or corkboard. Our map poster is printed on thick, high-quality matte paper, but it will need a backing if you plan on using push pins to mark your travels.
Framed maps are a complete ready to hang option. Framed maps are our maps printed on thick matte paper, carefully mounted on foam board, and placed in a gold, black, or white frame. The map comes complete with a wire hanging kit installed and 100 push pins.
