This is my favorite scent: a really beautiful, delicate combination -- not overpowering at all. Sometimes I just smell my wrists if I'm wearing it and feeling stressed, and it calms me right down. Thank you!

analog beauty

Marble & Milkweed is inspired by the poetry inherent in any well-crafted thing. It's also brought to you by the cool, smooth skin of my clawfoot bathtub in the kitchen on Rivington Street, in New York City's Lower East Side, where the healing powers of water serve both as refuge and as muse.

The scientific name of milkweed's genus is Asclepius, named after the Greek god of medicine and healing. In Hindu mythology it is believed that the universe was created by a god drunk on the milky white juices of the plant. Today, milkweed is the primary source of food for the monarch butterfly. It's my hope that the precious nectars you'll find here will likewise nourish you into winged resplendence!

Disarmingly analog and made carefully by hand, Marble & Milkweed products are designed to simplify the way you care for yourself. Our deep commitment to sourcing organic and fair-trade ingredients sets us apart in a market increasingly crowded with so-called "all-natural" options. Our products are gentle and contain no harsh synthetic additives or artificial scents. We are conscious of the impact our packaging has on the environment and strive to reduce unnecessary packaging. We use glass bottles and jars, and compostable paper packaging, all of which can have lives beyond their first use. Taking good care of yourself truly goes hand in hand with caring for the planet.

Marble & Milkweed is proud to support the work of Butterfly Project NYC with a portion of our profits.

Additional policies and FAQs
It is important for you to be aware of your skin's sensitivities before using any of our products. Though we use only gentle and natural ingredients, please proceed with caution if you are at all concerned about your skin's reaction. Those who are pregnant or nursing should consult their doctor before using any product containing essential oils. Our products and the information on these pages are not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any medical condition and are not a substitute for the medical advice of a trained physician.

Also, please note: because our honey-based items do not contain any preservatives other than the naturally preservative qualities of honey (which only work in a dry environment), they may require a little extra mindfulness from the user. To keep your products sprightly, please dip into them with a clean spoon and avoid introducing moisture into the jars. With a little tender care, they will last until you use them up! Lip balms and other balms have a shelf life of about a year.
