About

cutcutcut, sewsewsew

I am sure it's genetic...if I do not make something every single day with my hands I will expire. I come from a family of building builders, Singer sew-ers and garden growers. Hands make magic.

Born in Bristol, PA to two street chic kids from Philly (a mom who never said "No!" and a pop who always said "Why not?!") my early years were spent learning how-to-do-everything-yourself. I acquired a BA of Fine Arts from Shippensburg University which is in a teeny-little town in the middle of Pennsylvania. From there I jumped to the wonderfully small city of Baltimore where I went from an administrative job to mommy to painter. Then one day, the Director of the Woman's Industrial Exchange asked one simple little question, "Do you think you could make flowers?" What do you think I said?!

Now I am attending classes at MICA, acquiring more mad skills. If you see a blue streak of vapor over Mount Vernon, that's me cursing up a storm in my basement trying to master my latest assignment. You can sometimes find me at various markets and shows up and down the mid-Atlantic area but I'm most often in my little blue studio, cutting and sewing away.
