Color makes everything better!
I began painting in 2017, as a way to release creative energy I felt I had been keeping pent up for years while pursuing a graduate degree in library science and working in corporate libraries. I started watching tutorials on Skillshare, where I instantly took to watercolors, and they have remained my favorite artistic medium ever since.
Color exploration is a big part of why I love to make art, so I don’t shy away from bright, multicolored palettes, and I use digital tools to create even more color versions of a painting once I’ve scanned it. I like to use technology and hand-painted elements together to create unique finished pieces. In my shop, you will find designs made from watercolor, gouache, ink, colored pencil or acrylic, as well as digital drawings made with Procreate. I use whichever medium will best accomplish my vision!
I enjoy painting happy, funny or motivational designs that can add a bright spot to someone’s day. My personal obsession with reading books comes through frequently in a lot of book-related art! And my origins as a farm girl from North Dakota inspired my Norwegian-themed pieces, as have my travels to Norway.
I want my artwork to be enjoyed in everyday life, whether it’s on a favorite coffee mug or adorning your wall. I hope my designs brighten up your day and maybe even inspire you to be creative as well!
