About

Artisan Made Contemporary Jewelry

Welcome!
My name is Mark White and I am the founder of MarkWhiteDesigns. I am a self-taught metalsmith and have been designing and making creative jewelry since 2007. I graduated Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and have worked in the architectural design field for many years. Modern design continues to be the inspiration for my work.
I am also a juried member of The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, one of the oldest handmade craft organizations in the United States.

All of my work is hand fabricated using recycled sterling sheet silver, wire and other materials. I take great pride in my workmanship and strive to create unique and affordable jewelry that can be worn every day. I am proud to be here on Etsy and make quality work that cannot easily be found in the world of mass produced merchandise.

Please feel free to contact me about any of the work you see in my shop or for something to be made especially for you!

Welcome to my online Etsy shop featuring handmade artisan jewelry!

I am passionate about designing and making jewelry! I love modern design and am very much inspired by contemporary architecture, sculpture, art and graphic design. I like to explore combining different materials to create bold designs that make a positive statement for the wearer. I think that jewelry is sometimes much more than just an accessory and says a lot about you.

All the work in my shop is made by me in my small studio in New Hampshire. I take great pride in my workmanship and want to make sure you are 100% happy with your purchase!

If you have any questions about my work or a custom order please contact me. I answer all messages usually within 24 hours.

I hope you will enjoy visiting my shop!

Shipping
DOMESTIC USA:

A nominal $3.00 is charged to cover shipping costs.

I ship using USPS First Class mail, insured for full value. Items are usually shipped within 24 hours of receiving payment. Tracking numbers will be provided to you once package has been mailed.

Your purchases will arrive in a "Mark White" jewelry box and will be well packaged in a separate mailing box or padded mailing envelope.

ALL OTHER LOCATIONS:

A flat fee of $ 12.00 for shipping and insurance will be charged. All international orders are sent USPS First Class, insured for full value and will include tracking information (if available).

Please note:

Taxes, duties and customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Please check with your local mail services and customs agency concerning what additional charges may apply.

IMPORTANT:

For customers using PayPal; PayPal policies state that orders must be shipped to the address confirmed in the buyer's PayPal account. This is for the protection of both the Buyer and Seller. I will only ship to the address confirmed in the PayPal account. If your Etsy "ship to" address is different from your PayPal "ship to" address please edit your PayPal "ship to" address accordingly so that your order will be mailed to your desired location.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase! My return policy is very simple:

If you are not happy with your jewelry for any reason simply return it to me within seven (7) days of receiving your purchase. Once I receive the item I will issue you a refund for the full purchase price. Return shipping and insurance charges are the responsibility of the recipient. Returned items must be in original condition. Custom orders cannot be returned.
Additional policies and FAQs
All of my jewelry is handmade by me. I do all of my own design work including
gemstone setting, finishing of pieces, glass fusing and lapidary work.
All earrings have sterling silver ear wires. If you have an allergy to silver please
let me know and I can use surgical steel ear wires instead.

All of my work is designed and made to withstand general wear and if a piece
needs to be repaired please contact me. Please note that common sense should be taken with all jewelry that has glass as part of the piece. While the glass is durable it can crack or chip if the piece is dropped on a hard surface. Treat your jewelry with care and you'll have it to enjoy for many years.

If your piece comes with a sterling chain please take care not to tangle or bend the chain as certain types of chains can "kink" and these cannot be repaired. If you have to replace a chain I'd be happy to accommodate you for a fee (typically the net cost to me for the particular chain).

PHOTOGRAPHY

I do not edit or re-touch my photographs. What you see is the actual piece of jewelry photographed by me without any additional editing or enhancements.

RINGS

I can make almost any design you see in my rings to your specific size. If you don't know your size I recommend getting your finger measured. Most jewelry stores will be happy to do this at no charge. Do not guess or measure your your finger with string or tape as this will not be accurate.

Please note that bands that are 5mm to 6.5mm will generally fit 1/4 size smaller.
Bands from 7mm to 8mm will fit about 1/2 size smaller. If the ring band is 9mm or larger you would be advised to order 3/4 size up.

CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY

Mild soap and water and be used to clean your jewelry if it gets grimy. Silver
polish can be used with a cloth to clean tarnish off. On textured jewelry silver
polish used with a toothbrush can also help keep the piece clean.

On jewelry that has certain types of stone (i.e.- beach pebbles and other small stones) I do not recommend using silver polish as it can darken the stone. For these purchases I will provide you with specific instructions as to how to keep your jewelry looking like new.

If you have any questions about refurbishing your piece please contact me!
I can give you specific advice on how to keep your jewelry looking like new!

CUSTOM WORK

If you have an idea for a custom piece or want to have an existing design that you see in my shop modified please let me know and I'll be happy to work with you!

********************************************************************************************
Please note that my jewelry is not intended for children. Once it has been shipped all liability is on you the buyer and I am no longer responsible for the jewelry.

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept returns?

Yes, you can return your purchase!
I want you to be happy with your purchase but if my jewelry doesn't live up to your expectations simply mail the item(s) back to me within 7 days of receiving it. Once I receive it I will issue you a full refund less shipping charges. The item must be in the original box and in original condition. Custom designed items cannot be returned however sometimes this is possible depending on the nature of the piece.

I also suggest insuring the work when sending it back as typically insurance is fairly inexpensive.

When will my order ship?

Quick responsive shipping.
I typically send orders out within 24 hours of receiving notification of the transaction and payment. If you place an order on a weekday it typically will be mailed out the next day. Orders placed during a weekend will be mailed on Monday. If for some reason I cannot send your purchase out within that time I'll send you a convo with the expected ship date. Also; once your order ships you will receive notification of shipping plus a tracking number.

Custom orders:
I always provide customers with an estimate of completion time regarding a custom order prior to them placing the order. No surprises.

How do you package your items?

Gift ready packaging!
All my work is sent in jewelry boxes tied with ribbons making them very attractive and ready for gift giving. The box with your purchase will be packed carefully inside a padded or bubble wrapped mailing envelope to fully protect the jewelry.

What if my item is lost in the mail?

All purchases insured.
Fortunately a lost package doesn't happen very often. However; I insure all work sent out at full purchase price so that if an item does get lost and ultimately does not arrive you will be refunded 100% of your purchase price (or if you choose I will send out a replacement at no additional charge).

Can you resize my ring if it doesn't fit?

Generally, no.
When a ring does not fit I will be happy to make you a new one that closely matches the design of the original ring. All I ask is that you send the original ring back to me first. There is no charge for this except for the return shipping cost back to you. Please note: Certain types of custom made rings (if complex in design) may not be returnable.

Most of my rings have heat sensitive stones or glass that can be damaged due to "thermal shock" (cracking of the material when subjected to high heat when re-soldering the ring). Sometimes a ring can be protected but I would rather make you a new ring than risk destroying the original.

Do you do custom work?

All the time!
A lot of my jewelry is made to order or might involve changing an existing design. I have made rings and pendants using stones and gems provided by the customer. If you have a concept, idea or like something in my shop but need it in a different size let me know and I'll be happy to work with you!
