This fountain pen was a present for a dear friend of mine who is passionate about writing instruments and is a clever calligrapher herself. She loved it and appreciated the fact that it enables smooth writing in addition to being very original! It arrived in perfect conditions and the delivery was very prompt.
I come from a long line of craftsman and builders. It is my pleasure to continue that tradition.
When I was young, I visited my uncle in Kentucky. He showed me how he made toys on his great grandfather's homemade wood lathe.
I thought it was magic. Taking a simple piece of wood and turning it, literally, into a baseball bat or the leg of a chair seemed like the greatest job ever.
Years later when my daughters were born, I made them toys as well as pens and pencils. I was hooked. It wasn't long before every friend, neighbor, and family member was knee-deep in handcrafted writing instruments. Eventually I started getting requests and, before I knew it, I was in business.
Just as my family's old lathe was built to last, so are my pens. They are made with the passion and care of generations gone by in a shop dedicated to the craft. The body of every pen is cut, sized, drilled, and turned by hand. After that, I finish and polish everything, and hand assemble. Each pen is unique, and writes its own story.
I hope you enjoy using them as much as I enjoy making them.
I learned from my father to do things right the first time. He has been my constant inspiration to do better, every day. He is a builder and craftsman himself, and his work ethic and dedication to quality is something I am proud to carry on.
I have studied woodworking for over 20 years and grew up in a construction family. I belong to the International Association of Penturners and have learned a great many things from the helpful people there. I constantly strive to improve and perfect the techniques I use.
