Another extremely unusual style nail head that I must own. Just love these due to their unique shape. If turned upside down, they remind me of question marks. What a fun shape.

I collect nail head beads due to their unusual shapes and sizes. I plan to use these in a necklace when I am finally done admiring them.

First time I have purchased antique French steel cuts. I just had to own these as they are gorgeous. Beautiful colors that look like new - but haven't been manufactured since 1920. Must have more of these bright shiny, cannot resist, stunners.

Lovely red wine beads that looks as beautiful as the day they were manufactured. I LOVE vintage beads due to their unique size and colors. A must have for collectors and fans of vintage beads.

Having admired this style of necklace in vintage jewelry books, I am thrilled to have one for myself. Made in the 1920s and much loved by the original owner, I plan to repair and admire this lovely piece.

About

I have never met a bead I didn't like.

My shop was something that evolved from my love of beads. Very early on I was fascinated with all kinds of beads, I remember thinking they reminded me of candy. All aspects of beads totally interests me, Like the fact they were first form of currency in ancient times. There is not a culture that does not have some sort of connection with beads and a history all their own.
At the age of three, I stuck a bead so far up my nose on Mothers day, my father had to take me to the emergency room to have it removed. I still can vividly remember wanted to re design a necklace I had been given because I wanted to customize,it.
Then after high school a friends grandmother gave me an antique beads handbag to harvest the beads from. I took one look at the 1920s swag long fringed bag and thought, I can fix that. Well after that successful repair, I was hooked. I have a hard time believing that was 25 years ago. More than a thousand repaired handbags later, , I seem to have worked with ever type of antique French metal, Czech glass, Belgium beaded and Italian glass bead that one can think of, I get so excited to come upon other beads I have never seen before and I have a constant hunger for more knowledge about beads and anything bead related. Sadly much of the history about some types of beads were destroyed along with the factories in WW2, Only information that survived was passed down from family members who had worked in the factories and were lucky enough to live to pass down to their younger generations. There are Glass master craftsman in Czech that have been trained in their craft by generations and generations of glass masters who have formulas for colors that can be found no where else in the world. Formulas that were kept secret in families and each family in that era had a specialty color or technique.
