If you want all the ashes of one person in your urn, you will need a large urn of at least 150 cubic inches (2,5 liters). If you buy an urn of 240 c.i. all ashes will fit in. The best way to be sure you have the right size is to measure the box in which the ashes are kept. I create urns in all sizes. My urns are an object of art. This is what is most important to me: to create an urn which breathes beauty and honors the person. If the urn is not full-size there are several options. My experience is that my customers sometimes buy several urns and split the ashes between several persons. Or another option is to scatter the ashes partly. My urns are not threaded, because it may cause problems in future when the wood reacts to the humidity in your home. The design of the lid is often fragile, you should not use force to open it. Therefor I create a simple lid. You can easily close it. If you want it to be closed permanently use a little bit of silicon glue. If you use just a little, you will be able to unlock it in future if you decide to scatter the ashes.

Or you can keep the lid open. Advantage of this is that you can turn the lid in any position that you like. You can keep the ashes safe by using a plastic bag (see filling instructions). If you want a snug fit, you can apply a little bit of tape at the tenon of the lid. Be aware: only put force on the base of the lid.

You can fill the urn by placing a simple plastic bag in the urn. Blow some air in the bag, so it will spread inside the urn. Then take a funnel and spoon the ashes gently into the urn. After that make a knot and put the knot inside the urn. You can place the lid on top of the urn. I usually make urns with a small opening, because of it's beauty.

My urns are shipped with DHL express outside the EU. Normally it is delivered within a week or even less than a week. You can follow your package with the track and trace code. They only ship to a normal address, P.O. boxes are not allowed. DHL requires a phone number so please add your phone number to guarantee a quick delivery! DHL might use this number if you need to pay import taxes. The rules for import taxes differ from country to country, Etsy does not collect this for you.

My urns are durable products. I use non water resistant wax, because of it's natural look, but I also use high gloss and satin lacquer. You can read it in the item description. In case I used wax you can only clean it with a dry cloth. If you want to let it shine, rub it. You can also use some furniture wax if you like some extra shine. In case I used lacquer you can clean it with a damp or dry cloth. Please keep your urn out of direct sunlight and don't place it near a heating source.
