Smells wonderful and melts into your skin.
Welcome to Martinsville...
...a tiny little lost hamlet from days gone by, where you can find handmade treasures of all kinds made with love by people who might be your neighbors, not machines in foreign lands.
It's the story heard a thousand times - a stay-at-home mom starts a small bath and beauty business in her kitchen, and creates an empire.
Walking into Martinsville Emporium, or viewing our products online, you'll soon find yourself sniffing your way through our cold process soaps, bath and body products, soy candles, and all the other luxurious yet affordable scented products we've been creating since 2002.
At any one time we have over 35 different soap fragrances, with a wide variety to please everyone. There's masculine and classic Bay Rum, lively Juicy Grapefruit, sensual Cedar and Saffron, and our top selling Lilac. Our soaps aren't just great gifts - they're a wonderful way to treat yourself well every day.
Our soaps are made using our own proprietary formula, developed through hours of research into the properties of our oils, and perfected through literally hundreds of batches of soap, 62 bars (20 pounds) at a time.
We're more than just a soap shop, though! We have a wide variety of products , including our dual purpose shower gel/bubble bath, hand and body lotion enriched with goat's milk extract and honey, body mist, and scrub drops, all available in our most popular fragrances.
And don't forget about our lip balms! We usually have between 50 and 70 flavors of lip balm, ranging from the usual like Strawberry, Root Beer and Wild Cherry - to the more interesting like Dill Pickle, Buttered Popcorn, and Bacon. We have made thousands of lip balms, and shipped them around the globe - so chances are you'll find a flavor that's to your liking.
If you're ever in the western New York area, our brick and mortar shop is located at 88 Webster Street in the historic downtown of North Tonawanda, NY.
Owner, Maker, Chief Saponifier
Part chemist, part artisan, and part fragrance collector, owner and Chief Saponifier Heather Kalisiak has created a world of handmade soaps, bath and body goodies, and soy candles, working out of her brick and mortar store in North Tonawanda, NY.
Welcome to Martinsville!
Everyone should be able to treat themselves to a few high-quality goodies, so our products are priced fairly and accordingly.
We do no animal testing. It makes the animals nervous and they try to pull all-nighters the evening before trying to cram. Not to mention that our cats hate baths. Instead, we've drafted our willing friends and family to test our products.
No animal products were used in the creation of the majority of our products, so they will make perfect gifts for the vegan in your life. If there are animal products in a specific product (usually goat milk), the listing will clearly state that there are animal products in that item.

Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
PayPal holds domestic eChecks for 4 days or longer; we will ship your package when they release the funds.
We take old fashioned methods of payment, like checks and money orders, however, they are the slowest method and we really discourage using them. Please realize that we sometimes have to wait up to TEN DAYS to be sure that your check has cleared.
We NEVER ship without payment.
NY customers will be charged 8% sales tax on the entire purchase (including shipping costs).
All of our domestic packages are shipped with Delivery Confirmation - your DC number will be emailed to you when your package is shipped. If you do not receive your order, please let us know.
We are very sorry, but we no longer ship internationally. :( The cost of shipping is just too high, usually at least the cost of the item if not more. The only items we will still ship internationally is our lip balms, and those listings have international shipping prices on them. If you are from outside the United States and would like a shipping quote, we are happy to provide you with a custom quote - but in our experience, every time we do so, the cost is too high.

Additional policies and FAQs
We try our best to give full disclosure of all our ingredients. We do not use any tree nut or peanut oils in our products. However, due to the nature of oil processing, we can never guarantee that our oils have not been cross-contaminated with peanut and/or tree nut oils.
The candy, however, that we send out with domestic packages, is free of tree nuts, peanuts, peanut by-products, eggs, milk, or dairy products, and is processed on dedicated machinery. ^_^
Question: Do you wholesale?
We are sorry, but we are not taking any new wholesale accounts.
Question: I have a [blog/YouTube account/charity event/basket raffle] and I would love to promote your store, because it will be so great for you and you'll sell tons of things because [my readers/viewers/the people coming to the basket raffle] love to buy stuff, so send me [some free stuff/a donation] and I'll give you a glowing review/tell everyone about your business.
Thanks for thinking of us, but the rising costs of both postage and raw ingredients prohibit us from sending out free items to non-customers. We set aside a certain dollar amount of product to give to charity/basket raffles each year and because we receive donation requests multiple times each day (one of the downsides of having a brick and mortar store), that allotment is usually gone very quickly. "Free" items really aren't free - the customer will always end up bearing the brunt of giveaways, and we prefer to keep our prices as affordable as possible. Customer orders will usually receive little extras in their packages, of course! ^_^
