Exploration, discovery, and daily practice are what drive me to make, finish and sell my work. Being part of the community of makers of functional craft is a joyful aspect of my life for which I am truly grateful.

I find inspiration in the modesty and raw beauty of certain Japanese and Korean ceramics and in the tradition of ritualistic use of these forms in everyday life. Through this inspiration I strive to create wheel thrown and hand built stoneware and porcelain pottery with a quiet, timeless style and sensuous functional quality. The flow of routine and challenge within the many steps of the ceramic making process provide me centering and growth.

Happiness is marking a pot with an intentional gesture using my own hand or a special brush leaving a hint of the maker for you as you incorporate these handmade wares into your life. It is deeply satisfying to think of all you who are connected with me through the use of my pots in the intimate acts of daily sustenance; cooking, eating and drinking as well as in beautifying your homes.
