I bought the black & gold tunic almost twenty days ago & it has not yet arrived. I contacted the owner & have not even heard back yet. I'm not sure what the hold-up is, or why I haven't been contacted. Very unhappy.
Vintage from Toronto and New York
I first heard of Etsy through a friend from Los Angeles who has her own shop. I had never been on Etsy and I wasn't even fond of purchasing online, but as I grew acquainted with the Etsy community my mind quickly changed and I opened MaryLuVintage in February of 2012.
I have always been in love with vintage clothing and over the years I have collected different items for photo shoots or for my personal wardrobe. About a week into opening my shop I was able to collect bags of authentic vintage clothing from estate sales and donations from grandparents. When I'm in Brooklyn, NY I visit a few hidden gem shops. Wherever I go I am always looking for the perfect addition to the shop.
What's so great about modern fashion is that you can wear pretty much anything from any time, as long as you make it work. Some of the things I've found that I thought wouldn't sell for months sold overnight!
What I've most enjoyed, though, is the unique shopowners I've come across who make their own things and are really making a real business for themselves. I've spent almost as much as I've made on Etsy because you just can't find what's offered here, everywhere.
Summer of 2013 is going to be fun, expect a lot more vintage from nyc and Miami.
A full-time twenty-something student. I have always been interested in everything vintage, whether it be fashion, furniture or Hitchcock, the essence of the old attracts me.
