About

Mary's Milk Monsters

Mary Altieri began a small herd of five dairy goats in 2008 as a home school project at the age of eight. She prides herself in their daily care, including milking each by hand, twice per day. In 2010, she joined the Clatsop County 4H Young Entrepreneurs Club and started a business selling goat milk soap at the Astoria Sunday Market as her 4H project.
By 2011, Mary was pleased to begin her very own vendor space at the Astoria Sunday Market. She also began selling goats milk soap and tote bags made from her goats' feed bags on Etsy.
New for 2012, Mary added 22 laying ducks to her family of hard working pets, collecting the large eggs to sell at her market space, and restaurants, and donate to the county food bank. Mary also up-cycles the ducks' feed bags into shopping totes, which are the blue Layena totes.
