I loved a printing of a fern and feeling it on my wrist. I hope I will be able to get an arm cuff with another fern print in the future.

Really nice cufflinks - my husband loves them! Shipping was super fast, especially considering it was just before Christmas! I'm very grateful that they arrived in time! Thanks :)

Mastic Lashes, no longer just a resin shop!

It all began with a wedding. My wedding, that is. I was a DIY bride, and wanted to make handmade gifts for our wedding party. So I got a book from the library called DIY Bride (ironically) which had instructions for making resin cufflinks. Unfortunately, the instructions were not detailed enough, and I spent a long time and many batches of resin trying to create perfect cuff links with no bubbles. My efforts were rewarded. My wedding party loved them so much: Success! And I loved making them so much, I decided to keep doing it. My first custom order was for a bride who wanted a special set of cuff links as a gift for her groom. They turned out perfectly and she was so happy! I was addicted. Over the years, I have since gotten divorced, but then found the man of my dreams who actually approves of my resin habit. I have also added additional tools to my collection. I can now custom stamp metal, patina copper and brass, and do basic techniques I am learning about cold connections, and hope to take some leatherworking classes soon. I am thinking about starting to do local craft fairs.
My new family is starting to help me out. Tony wonders how to add LEDs and other glowing things into my resin so as to make a set of light-up cuff links. His daughter Lauren helps me with photography and quality control. Our dog Marco comes to check on me when I am crafting to make sure I am still alive, and keeps me company. What started out as a hobby is becoming a professional venture. Maybe one day I will have an actual studio with everything in one place. The possibilities for the future are limitless!

Welcome to Mastic Lashes, where we have everything for the sophisticated gentleman, the stylish lady, and the trendy young person on your shopping list! I specialize in hand-made resin jewelry, and each piece is lovingly made and perfectly unique. I also do not 'steal' images from the internet - every image used in my projects has been purchased legally in some form or another. The only exception to this rule is for one-off custom pieces, by request.

Here's some helpful terms for understanding resin-making and jewelry products

Bail: the metal thing that has a hole in it that is attached to a piece of jewelry and you can thread your chain through it to wear it as a necklace. My molded resin pieces all have bails glued on to them.

Bezel: a shallow container with a higher edge idea for pouring resin into. Bezels can be made of glass or metal, and I made some of mine from polymer clay. They essentially become the backing of the resin product, as the resin cannot be removed from the bezel once it has cured.

Jump ring: a round metal ring that can be used in place of a bail to attach a pendant to a necklace.

Resin: generally resin is comprised of two different compounds that are mixed together, and when cured dry hard and glossy. There are many different types of resin and they all have different purposes and techniques associated with them. Right now I'm using Easy Cast Polyester casting resin.

Polymer clay: the kind of clay that comes in many different colors. You mold it into whatever shape you want then bake it at a certain temperature. A common brand is Fimo.

Split ring: a round metal ring (more like the ring on a keychain) that can be used in place of a jump ring (I usually use split rings as they don't separate by themselves like jump rings do sometimes).

Returns and exchanges
I value all of my customers and take pride in my work. If you are unhappy with a product for any reason, I will be glad to issue a full refund upon return of the item. The buyer is responsible for shipping the product back, and a full refund will be issued if the product is received within 30 days of the original delivery. However, Mastic Lashes cannot be responsible for damages to items that have occurred during the shipping process.

Resin is very durable, but under extreme wear it may scratch - this is more likely to occur with cuff links (no offense, gentlemen). Please be careful with your resin products to make sure you are not subjecting them to abrasive surfaces.
Paypal and money orders are accepted. Items will be shipped within 1 to 4 days of full payment having been received. Orders within Canada generally ship within 2 to 5 business days.
All orders are shipped via Canada Post. You will receive confirmation after the order has been shipped. All US and International buyers are responsible for duty fees.
If you are buying from Calgary (AB) and surrounding area and would prefer not to pay shipping fees, I will be more than happy to work with you to arrange a convenient location for the exchange. Or check out my blog to see when I'll be at events around town, and save yourself a shipping fee!
Additional policies and FAQs
Mastic Lashes will gladly consider custom orders. I have done custom earrings, pendants and cufflinks, and will be doing some belt buckles soon. Cufflinks can be made using personal photos, memorabilia, etc. that are small enough to fit within a 16mm diameter circle. All cufflinks are silver plated or gold-plated. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for all custom orders.
