How does one fly when sitting perfectly still?
Well that begins the story.......
I began my Etsy experience on a very small scale and I let it go for a moment. Now I am back in full force because the need to share my work and support my family while at home has become a priority. I am beginning my vision again after the death of my grandfather. Caring for him was my full-time job and now I am becoming physically present in the art community here in Cleveland again.
For the past 10 years I have created visual experiences in the art community for Festivals, galleries and more. I have collaborated with many artists to bring to light poetry, music, dance and the visual arts. I have won awards for my photography and have been featured on our local NPR station many times. I am now revamping my portfolio, selling images in stock photography through Fotolia and constantly finding new ways to re-awaken my visual career.
All of this energy and need to create comes from the maternal side of my family. I am the last one standing hoping to honor them simply by continuing my passion.
However, I not only want to support my family but give back to the community. As my daughter ages and her experiences change my passion to assist in the lives of children remain, specifically that of little girls. For the past seven years my daughter and I have contributed to the St. Jude's and the Nirvanavan Foundation privately and through the efforts of her school. I would like to continue that commitment and dedicate 10% of my yearly sales from Etsy to those same causes. Keeping with the philosophy that a blessing is not a blessing until you give it away. Please keep that in mind when making a purchase. I will keep track of those contributions on my website starting January 2015.
