I was so thrilled when I got home and opened the package to see what was in it, I felt like a little kid on Christmas day. I can honestly say that the seller totally made my day with what was included with my order and not to mention my order arrived way sooner than expected. Welcome to Maui Seeds, the small business that I started and base from our 2 acre family farm in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. Blessed with three daughters, my husband, Sam, and I have been cultivating this property since 1994. We are delighted to share with you the different types of easy to grow edible and medicinal seeds, plants and trees abundant in our Maui Garden and on the island of Maui.
Maui's year round growing climate and reasonable shipping rates to the US and it’s Territories make it a perfect choice for your tropical plants and seed selections.
Healthy living is a lifestyle, from the foods that you eat, to what you grow in your garden, as well as the soap that you put on your skin. Any substance on your skin is absorbed by the body and is the same thing as eating it. Here at Maui Seeds we enjoy and promote the outdoors and embracing a natural healthy lifestyle.
Raising three daughters we have gained some wisdom of what natural products work with sensitive skin types (eczema prone children). We all use natural skin care products whenever possible. Each family member will have different skin care needs.
I enjoy channeling my 30+ years of Quilting experience into creating luxurious hand crafted cold process Soaps. New themes, ingredients and color combinations add a unique 'Maui' flair to each small batch of soap offered. You will find beneficial herbs, Hawaiian sea salts, bark, assorted healing clays, local honeys, tropical fruit and Maui botanicals from our garden in each bar.
It is our greatest joy to be able to share a little bit of Maui with everybody, in some way.

We know that ordering online can make one hesitate but we have a few policies in place to protect our SMALL online home based business. IF YOU ARE A NOVICE (OR EXPERT) GARDENER, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND OR AGREE WITH OUR SHOP POLICIES.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE YOUR SKILL AT GROWING ANYTHING.
Please be ready to receive your order of live Maui Seeds when your package arrives. Many of these live Maui sourced seeds are wet packed and will arrive in damp paper toweling inside sealed plastic baggies. 'Recalcitrant' seeds like many of the ones that we offer must be kept moist and cannot be shipped dried. YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED IF YOU ASK US TO DRY THE RECALCITRANT SEEDS AFTER YOU ORDER THEM.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHAT IS SENT DRIED OR WET PACKED. Again, we want everyone to have tremendous success with any seeds that they receive. You must do your part once they are in your care. We cannot help you/your seeds once they are received, inspected, kept, buried by you.
Please let us know immediately (within 24 hours) if you feel that there are any issues with your order (weeks or months later is too long) Please plan on providing a photo of your issue. We ship USPS mail only. Live plants ship USPS mail from Maui to you on Mondays. Sometimes USPS mail is rough with the packages. We very carefully pack the plants and seeds knowing this ahead of time. Tracking info./# s are provided for packages but not for smaller letter sized parcels. ****Due to the slower mail system we are offering limited International shipping at this time****International Buyers are responsible for their import Ag. restrictions, import taxes, fees, etc. Each country has it's own import laws. We are responsible for exporting/certification to leave the U.S. not enter your country. We do not offer/provide a 'phytosanitary' certificate. All live plants are shipped within the U.S. only and they will arrive with a Hawaii state Agricultural inspection stamp, just like the seeds do.
PLEASE, DO NOT TRY TO BYPASS NOT PAYING FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING BY HAVING A 'FRIEND' RECEIVE YOUR WET PACKED SEEDS/PACKAGE IN THE U.S. AND THEN EVENTUALLY BRING TO YOU OUTSIDE U.S. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE SEEDS DOUBLE SHIPPED TO YOU. TOO MANY PEOPLE TRY TO DO THIS AND YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE WET PACKED SEEDS THAT YOU FINALLY RECEIVE MONTHS LATER. DO NOT ORDER THESE SEEDS TO BE SHIPPED TO YOU OUT OF THE COUNTRY BY A THIRD PARTY. We cannot/do not guarantee you doing this. We ship the live wet packed seeds as quickly as possible within the U.S. only. Any International orders placed are at the Buyer's risk only.
-If your package arrives damaged-please provide photos of the CONTENTS as well as the outside of your package if you feel a refund is necessary or that the item arrives damaged by USPS. You will need to file a damaged package claim with USPS if this happens. USPS does not allow us/the seller to file the damaged package claim on your/the buyer's behalf.
-If your package is shown as delivered to the address that you have provided but you have not received it after a day or two (and after asking your neighbors/household/mailman if they saw it) that means you have had your mail stolen and you will have to file a stolen mail report with your local police. We do not reship orders that are shown as delivered to your provided shipping address. It is up to the buyer to provide a safe location if they have their mail delivered somewhere.
-PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE LIVE WET PACKED TROPICAL SEEDS AND MUST BE KEPT 75-85 degrees at all times. We cannot reship/refund orders that were ordered by you to be shipped somewhere that is cold or freezing, currently having a snow blizzard. Please do not order these wet packed tropical seeds if the temperatures are currently under 70 or are over 90 degrees where you live.
We can and do google what the temperature is where you live when you write and tell us that there is something wrong with these fresh as possible Maui seeds. One woman actually complained bitterly after receiving her order of tropical seeds.
It was actually TWENTY degrees BELOW zero the week that she placed her order. When we mentioned this to her she became irate and said it was only 30 degrees (!). Please keep in mind, it gets cooler at night and that will kill most of these seeds/plants. Some folks are expert indoor gardeners and have a greenhouse or enough skill to keep tropical plants alive indoors in a cold environment. If you are a Novice (or Expert) Gardener, please realize that we cannot/do not guarantee what happens to your personal gardening project.
-Please provide the correct ship to address when placing your order. Orders shipped to an address that you have provided, even by accident (and that turn out to be the incorrect/wrong address) cannot be reshipped or refunded. You must place a new order (with new shipping charges) to have a new order sent. Many of these wet packed seeds cannot be reshipped and are thrown out even if they are eventually returned to us. These are live products and a new order/seeds must be cleaned, packaged and sent.
-Refunds are offered, but PLEASE, be prepared to actually ship back (and pay for the return shipping) of YOUR COMPLETE ORDER (the extras/samples included) if you simply do not like it. We will not 'reship' you extra items or substitute other products for what you would like to return once you receive your order. We will not 'reship' an order that you have received safely and you do not want to return. If you would like to return an order once it is received please let us know within 24 hours that you are returning it and once we have received the entire order back you will receive a complete refund. (with you paying the return shipping to us, we do not provide a return label for you). Thank you in advance for understanding this firm policy.
-Please be advised that you are ordering live tropical seeds-SOME DEGREE OF GARDENING SKILL IS REQUIRED. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IF YOU ARE A NOVICE GARDENER OR DO NOT AGREE WITH OUR POLICIES. Some seeds will arrive already germinating and others take longer-each seed is different-THEY WILL NOT ALL GERMINATE IN UNISON. Please, have an idea of what the germination time for each seed IS, not what you would like it to BE. We do not guarantee that your seeds WILL even grow once in your care, we do not guarantee WHEN your seeds will sprout for you, if at all. Please note, most seeds do not all germinate in unison. 100 % germination does happen but not with all seeds. WE ONLY GUARANTEE THAT THESE ARE FRESH MAUI SOURCED SEEDS. ONCE YOU HAVE KEPT THEM 24 HOURS, THEY ARE YOURS AND NOT RETURNABLE OR REFUNDABLE. Gardening is a trial + error process. There are multiple factors beyond our control once you have your seeds safely. Please remember that this is your personal gardening project.
Many times someone will write and say that 'only 4 out of 10 seeds grew' for them and they want a refund/replacement sent. In reality it is the first of the seedlings to sprout and they are being impatient. We guarantee that these are freshly collected seeds, many grown by us, all are Maui sourced seeds, as fresh as humanly possible. WE OFFR NO guarantee of the seeds outcome once they are in your hands. Once you have received your order safely, inspected, kept and buried by you, our part is complete/DONE and this is your personal gardening project, not 'ours' together. The growing 'tips' and gardening advice that we have for you is written with the listing descriptions. Please plan on researching any plant that you plan on growing in your garden.
The gardening advice we do have for you is offered with the listing description. Google is a great way to research your seeds/plants/research your personal gardening project.
We do not and can not 'guide' you with your personal gardening project NOR do we guarantee YOUR ability/skill to keep these fresh seeds alive once they are safely received by you. Please understand this. This private consultation service does not come with/is not included with your seeds. Please, you having a 'heating mat', grow lights, a 'grow room' or greenhouse does not guarantee your success either.
There are too many variables involved for us to promise you more than that you will receive fresh Maui sourced seeds.
This rest is up to you.

Factors like the temperatures where you are (which can fluctuate from night to day), water, light level all play a part in the success of YOUR seeds growing into healthy plants for you. Please understand that this is YOUR personal gardening project, not 'ours' together. We try to offer easy to grow Maui sourced seeds that everyone can enjoy cultivating in their home garden. Please plan on researching (google) how to grow each plant in your particular area.
PLEASE NOTE, WRITTEN GROWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT OFFERED WITH (OR AFTER) YOU RECEIVE YOUR SEED ORDER. EVERY GARDENER HAS THEIR OWN METHODS FOR GROWING PLANTS AND THEIR UNIQUE GROWING SITUATION. PLEASE PLAN ON RESEARCHING (GOOGLING) HOW TO CULTIVATE EACH PLANT THAT YOU PLAN ON GROWING.
I am a 55 year old Mother of 3 Daughters. I take every photo, make every batch of soap, clean every seed. I have arthritis in both hands and am not able to respond to every written question for help. What growing advice I have to offer is written with each listing. Thank you for understanding that you are buying a pack of seeds, not private gardening consultation services.
EXTENSIVE COMMUNICATIONS WITH YOU AFTER YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN RECEIVED SAFELY IS NOT OFFERED. We DO NOT PROVIDE WRITTEN GROWING INSTRUCTIONS WITH OR AFTER YOUR SEEDS ARE RECEIVED SAFELY. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTIONS OFFERED WITH EACH LISTING FOR ANY 'GROWING TIPS'. Please enjoy researching each plant that you intend on growing in your specific area. We are unable to send you personal written growing instructions/extended communications about each seed. Usually a plant will thrive if you recreate what its natural environment is. We grow everything outdoors in Hawaii's year round growing season here in lush Haiku, Maui.
We will not be able to offer you growing advise beyond don't let your seeds dry out or get cold. They are Tropical. Please google 'recalcitrant seeds' if you are not familiar with that term. Most of our seeds must be kept 75-85 degrees. Some can tolerate slightly cooler or warmer temperatures. You will have to familiarize yourself with what each plant in your garden prefers. Please do NOT REFRIGERATE your tropical seeds/any of the seeds that we ship you.

Orders that are sent to the wrong address provided by the Buyer or returned are not refunded/reshipped. Again, a correct ship to address MUST be provided when placing an order.
