What a phenomenal scarf! So fun! I bought for my sister and she adores it. Well made with great attention to detail. The palette and shape are fantastic. Adds pizzazz to jeans, but also works well with something a bit more dressy. The only issue is that now I need to purchase one for myself. :) Love this vendor/artist! Highly recommend!!!

I bought this scarf as a special present for my niece for Christmas and she instantly fell in love with it. She put it on and said "I feel like a movie star!" She thought it was the best present that she ever got. And I have to admit she was right. The scarf is so versatile and the colors are so beautiful. A true work of art! Maximum Julia is an absolute genius!

Yes, it costs. And, yes, it's worth every penny. Why? Because Maximum Julia’s witty copy of a famous Greek vase is a little work of art in its own right - one that takes all the technique and imagination and sheer love of any work of art in any field. I gave it to a doctor friend for his birthday, and he says he never looks at it without smiling or, rather like Zorba, wanting to break into dance, himself. Thank you, Julia. It's just just brilliant.

About

Artisanal Extravaganzas, Hand-Felted and Heartfelt.

My grandmother taught me to knit and crochet when I was 9, and I have been at it ever since. My background is in art history and theater. I am a writer and performer with a passion for physical comedy, and my work as a craftsperson celebrates my love for classic forms with a humorous, theatrical flair.

These days I am obsessed with felting. I feel like an alchemist, transforming fluid yarn into a solid form. The wool remains soft and supple to the touch but appears as though it has been modeled like clay; my woolen 'pottery' especially reflects this dichotomy. I've developed my own technique for making vases and faux-Greek vessels, and I am forever experimenting with new materials.

My wearable items have the same drama and humor as my decorative pieces. Each one is a work of art in progress: it is not a finished piece until it is on your body — you are the alchemist who transforms ribbons of yarn into a spellbinding garment.

My studio is in the smoke-free, fur-free apartment that I share with a 21-year-old African grey parrot named Mr. Darcy. Your purchase will arrive (clean and odor-free, of course) beautifully packaged in a gift box that includes care instructions. All items ship with a 100% satisfaction guarantee!
