Siempre he incursionado en las manualidades, incluso cuando era una niña pequeña, compraba platos de papel para decorar (¡creo que mis padres pensaron que estaba loca!)
Desde que se graduó con un título en Bellas Artes en 2008, este impulso de ser creativo ha aumentado. Comencé haciendo tarjetas hechas a mano y vidrio pintado a mano. Nunca me gustaron los textiles hasta que cumplí 28 años, cuando me compraron una hermosa máquina de coser rosa. Desde entonces soy imparable.
Utilizo principalmente mi máquina de coser para crear imágenes bordadas a mano alzada. Me gusta mezclar telas, texturas y también artículos encontrados, ¡como los brazos de ramita en la tarjeta del muñeco de nieve!
Adoro coser retratos de casas, las líneas tambaleantes que crea el bordado a mano alzada me llenan de tanta emoción. Me encanta que cuando empiezo una foto no estoy 100% seguro de cómo resultará. Cada pieza cosida es única y no hay dos iguales.

I have always dabbled in crafts even when I was a little girl I would buy paper plates to decorate (I think my parents thought I was mad!)
Since graduating with a Fine art Degree in 2008 this urge to be creative has heightened. I began by making handmade cards and hand painted glass. I was never that into textiles until my 28th birthday when I was bought a beautiful pink sewing machine. Since then I'm unstoppable.
I mainly use my sewing machine to create freehand machine embroidered pictures. I like mixing fabrics, textures and also found items, like the twig arms on the snowman card!
I adore stitching house portraits, the wobbly lines that freehand embroidery creates fill me with such excitement. I love that when I start a picture I'm not 100% sure how it will turn out. Each stitched piece is unique with no two ever being the same.
