I’m in Canada – where should I print my files?
If you’re going online, these are solid options:
canvasndecor.ca
posterjack.com
canvaspop.com
shutterfly.com
mixbook.com
They run sales all the time, so definitely check for deals before ordering.
If you want something local (and usually cheaper), try Staples or Walmart. Both have in-store and online printing.
I’m in the U.S. – where should I print my files?
For online printing, I’d go with:
finerworks.com
persnicketyprints.com
framebridge.com
mixbook.com
shutterfly.com
Some of these will frame everything for you too—but honestly, it’s usually cheaper to frame it yourself. Also, always look for coupon codes.
Local options: Staples, Walgreens, FedEx, Kinko’s, Costco, Walmart… they all do printing.
What kind of paper should I use?
Totally personal preference, but I usually go with heavyweight matte paper for a more “art print” look.
Most office/print shops carry good matte photo paper. You can use glossy, satin, or semi-gloss—but I personally stick with matte.
Printing at home or work?
Use smooth cardstock or heavyweight photo paper.
When printing:
Set it to “original size” or 100%
Pick the highest quality setting
Make sure the paper type matches what you’re using
Need a different size?
No problem—just message me and I’ll resize it for you for free.
What’s a zip file? How do I open it?
A .zip file just groups everything together to make it easier to download.
To open it:
Double click it on your computer
Or use a site like https://extract.me
on your phone
How do the ratios work? What sizes do I get?
Each order includes multiple ratios so you can print different sizes easily.
Here’s what you get:
2:3 ratio – 4x6, 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30
3:4 ratio – 6x8, 9x12, 12x16, 15x20, 18x24
4:5 ratio – 4x5, 8x10, 12x15, 16x20
5:7 ratio – 5x7, 20x28
Bonus – 11x14
Example: want an 8x10? Use the 16x20 file.
Missing a file?
Because of Etsy size limits, files are sometimes split into multiple folders.
Make sure you download everything and unzip all files.
In some cases, you’ll get a PDF with a link to download the larger files.
Printer says the file type won’t work?
No worries—just message me and I’ll send you the right format.
Different printers need different file types (some want PDFs, etc.), and Etsy doesn’t always allow those sizes for instant download.
Need a different file type?
Just ask—I’ve got you.
