5 out of 5 starsI LOVE this mug (huge understatement by the way)!!! It is the perfect size for my daily morning lattes. I love the intricacies of the design and how classic and unique it is. I actually have a larger mug by MeloPottery that has the same "eyeball" concept so it is the perfect set. I'm very impressed by MeloPottery's creations - she is beyond talented and everything I see on etsy is beautiful. It's all about supporting local artists!!

5 out of 5 starsI purchased the Birdie Blue Teapot from Melo Pottery because I found the piece to be so unique in shape and glaze color/quality. After receiving it, I found the photo to be true to color: the piece is indeed gorgeous! Though fully functional, I plan to have this sit in my living room as decorative art. I will try to attach a photo to this review if I can. In addition to the aesthetics, the piece also radiates the joy that I believe the maker of it put into it. Overall, a very sentimental and romantic, uniquely handmade piece. Thank you Melo Pottery, and keep up the good work! :)

About MeloPottery
Hello, welcome to Melo Pottery! I am Melody, a California-based potter with roots in China, England, and Sweden.
I was first drawn into pottery by the humanity of its philosophy. The concepts of wabi sabi, a worldview that sees and honors the beauty in that which is imperfect, and kintsukuroi, the philosophy that what is broken can be remade in beauty, felt analogous to how I understood life and personal growth. Rumi could have easily been speaking of ceramics as well as of the human spirit when he wrote, “The broken place is where the Light enters you.” As my practice deepens and I delve deeper into the pursuit of perfection, I hold onto those guiding philosophies of seeing the world in its totality and acknowledging its generous beauty. Nowadays, I experience pottery as a yogic practice, a creative meditation of intentionality balanced with letting go.
I love creating functional pottery that anchor the beholder in the present moment, a tactile reminder to enjoy the little whimsical and zen moments of daily life. The vast majority of my work is thrown on the potter's wheel. I use a range of stoneware clay, from Black Mountain of the darkest charcoal to the finest porcelain. All products are lead free and fired at cone 10 (2381 degrees F), which means they are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, unless otherwise indicated in the product description. I strive to be environmentally conscious in my practice, from being mindful of how much water I use while throwing to re-purposing clay.
Please enjoy your visit to my shop. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out! I’d love to hear from you.
