The ring box set arrived quickly. The design and craftsmanship are impeccable. The lids fit snugly and are very satisfying to open and seal shut. This will make a very special wedding gift for close friends, and I am very pleased and excited to give it to them. Thanks so much, Chris!

About

We design and build works of art and fine craft that keep memories close.

Chris and Shelley Harvan met while Drawing majors at The Cleveland Institute of Art. We have been creating custom works of memorialization since 2004-ish. Applying our varied talents in this fashion feels more right than any other creative endeavor we have ever taken on.

Turning this into an official, sustainable business has been a goal that we have been progressively realizing - Etsy being the primary online method for sales

Our product lines are in development and our avenues for wholesale and retail are growing. We still take on limited patronage for custom works of art that are urns, keepsake boxes, shadowboxes, personal reliquaries, and framed portraits. We design for and work with just about any material.

Memento Memorials helps keep memories and close to heart and home. We hope to bring healing to our customers by celebrating life and honoring the deceased through museum quality artwork.

Previously our work has been commission-based. We are just starting to bring products to market. Most of our urns take a significant amount of time, investment in tooling, and great practice as craftspeople. Our keepsake items rely on those same commodities, but are designed to be produced in small batches, and therefore are priced more affordably.

We still take on limited patronage for custom work and portraits: http://mementomemorials.com/about/patronage/

No two of our objects are exactly alike, especially those that are made of wood (which is most of them). Made to order items over $400 can be accompanied by communication along the process to make sure you are aware of the variables (grain, color, texture). All made-to-order payments will be held until item ships and you will be informed when item leaves the studio.
Shipping
Some items requite custom packaging to ship safely. Made to order items ship at different schedules. Please see item description for details. All shipments are insured and confirmed. Feel free to contact for international arrangements.
Refunds and Exchanges
Wood doesn't completely die until it burns or decomposes. It is always adjusting its moisture content to its environment.

Working with with it for over 20 years, you learn how to build in insurance and longevity into pieces. Our goal is museum quality, heirloom works of art. We do not expect our work to fail or break without outside influence. However....

If, for some reason, material fails under normal use. we will replace item. If our engineering fails, we will replace or refund at your preference. In both unlikely circumstances, we will need photos to try to assess the situation to figure out the best way to proceed.

We ask that you consider your purchases carefully. A return on whim would be very difficult for us. Please feel free to ask for additional photos or information on a product to be sure you are going to be happy with it. We would LOVE to hear from you and assist you.
Additional policies and FAQs
Ashes (cremains) come in a sealed plastic bag. Our urns are meant to house said bag as well. If you prefer to transfer cremains to the urn, please feel free to ask for additional instructions for doing so. Urn volumes are stated in cubic inches. The general rule is one living pound to cubic inch of cremain. Sorry for the graphic logistic, but there is no other way to get around the physicality of it.

Aside from local and state laws and ordinances, you do not have to feel obligated to follow any social rule or tradition when it comes to cremains and honoring the deceased. Your healing is personal. If you have chosen one of our products, you are likely going to be confortable with keeping it on display. Artwork has been used to honor the dead as long as we have been taking tool to materials. Do not let anyone else's opinion affect your personal path. The only person you need permission from is yourself.

We are very much interested in custom orders and wholesale.
