About

Custom soy candles handmade from the soul, with a little creativity and love.

Hi! I'm Hannah. Lover of everything relaxing, scented, and natural. I'm a corporate by day, chandler (candle maker) by night kind of gal. I fell in love with candles and how scents can create and attach to memories quite a few years back when I started experimenting with scent. I founded Meraki Candles October 2017 when I decided to bite the bullet and make this a bit more than just a hobby. I took the plunge and launched a small product line of hand poured candles after receiving immense support from friends and family. My passion for this space lies in scented soy candles that burn clean, scent an entire room, and offer you the opportunity to create memories of your own. I pour all my candles by hand (unless my husband is feeling extra creative - I promise he is great at it too!).

I bet you're asking "why the name Meraki?" Great question. 'Meraki' is an untranslatable word in Greek. Meraki is used to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love. It refers to when you put "something of yourself" into what you're doing, whatever it may be. Meraki is exhibited when we blend unique scents and pour one of a kind candles to create lasting memories from the experience and the scent. You can call me a bit of a language nerd - I geek out about words and meanings and I keep coming back to the Greek language (my dog's name is Naxos - after a Greek Island - he's pretty cool).

Nowadays, I work full time in Texas for a company that excels in operations and I am married to the love of my life. As a military spouse, I find it hard to ever be settled in one place and am thankful for the flexibility of what I do. One day, when "settled down" can become a reality, I dream of growing Meraki into into an experience where customers can come and pour their own candles. Until then, I hope you find the opportunity of blending your own candles virtually something that is still fun and unique to share with friends and family.

Outside of my corporate job and chandler roles, I love anything that has to do with strengthening my mind, soul, or body, You'll find me in a hot yoga or barre class, coffee shop, or enjoying the great outdoors with my pup and husband. We love to travel, so if you ever have great suggestions on where to go or what to see, please drop a line!
Thank you for supporting my small business and - please - never hesitate to DM with questions!

Peace. Love. Meraki.
