Frequently asked questions

What does Meraki Rame mean?

Meraki (mA-'rak-E) - To do something with soul, creativity, and love; to put the essence of yourself into your work.
Rame (rah-may)- The Italian word for "Copper".

How should I care for my copper jewelry?

I include a small white polishing cloth in every order of copper jewelry that can be used to rub the patina from your piece. Most of my jewelry is made with uncoated, pure copper, that will naturally age over time. This means that the copper will slowly darken. Getting your jewelry wet will speed up this process if it is left to air dry, so if it does get wet, just be sure to dry it off. We recommend sunshine cloths for a longer lasting jewelry polishing cloth that can be used on any metal and will work great for copper.

How will copper affect my skin?

Copper jewelry may turn your skin green. This happens to some people, but not everyone. Rings that are worn daily will often stay shinier and leave less green on your skin. This is because the green mark is a result of the copper tarnish being cleaned by friction and the natural oils of our skin. This means that the more you wear your jewelry, the shinier it will stay! We include a small white polishing cloth in each order of copper jewelry that can be used for polishing.
