After several successful years in the United States, Mercy Madge is now located in the United Kingdom, right in the heart of what was the Victorian Whitby jet industry! Our shop is a husband and wife collaboration, the culmination of decades of gathering heirloom worthy jewelry and trinkets on our travels. We have a true appreciation of the beauty, quality and quirkiness of our curated collection and we revel in the history of it. Whether you are buying for investment, sentiment, collecting or special gift giving you will find the perfect piece here.

Our number one priority is offering the very best in customer service and satisfaction. If you unhappy with your purchase, for any reason, you are more than welcome to return it in original condition within seven days for a refund of the purchase price.

All our items are inspected, tested, dated and guaranteed to be genuine and as described and photographed. Precious metals are acid or electronically tested and weighed using precision scales. Gemstones are tested with a Presidium Gem Tester. If evidence of gemstone enhancement is seen then it is noted in the description. Other industry standard identification and dating tools are used including construction, manufacturing techniques, vintage and antique advertising, wear, aesthetics and style.

Do you offer Layaway?

We offer a free 60 day term layaway plan with a 25% non refundable deposit for purchases over $100. A longer term might be available depending on the purchase price. Simply contact us to request a customized payment plan that will suit your needs. Please note that returns or refunds are not permitted on layaway purchases.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Every purchase will arrive in our complimentary custom packaging which is free of charge. Alternatively special or seasonal gift wrapping is available at checkout for a small charge. If you have any other special requests please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you

How do you ship? What if my item is lost or damaged?

All orders are dispatched within 1 business day and sent Royal Mail with proof of postage obtained.

In order to keep your shipping costs low all international orders under $100 are sent STANDARD FIRST CLASS which does NOT include tracking. Upgraded shipping is available at checkout and this includes tracking and insurance. The cost is either $3 or $5 depending on purchase price.

All orders over $100 are sent first class tracked and insured with delivery confirmation. If you require expedited shipping please contact us for pricing.

Please take note of your expected delivery time in your dispatch notice and in the unlikely event that your order is damaged or lost please contact us in a timely manner so we can assist you.

Do you give partial refunds?

We stand behind every item we sell and our number one priority is that you are happy with your purchase. However if you are dissatisfied there is no negotiation for a partial refund. Your options are to return the item for a refund or exchange or to keep your purchase. Layaway items cannot be returned for a refund or exchange.

How long will my order take to reach me?

We work hard to get your package out to you within 1 business day and will email you as soon as it is dispatched
Expected delivery times are:
Within the UK: 1-5 Business Days (Royal Mail First Class Post)
Outside the UK: 5-15 Business Days (Royal Mail International First Class)

Can I return an item I purchased?

Yes! If you are unhappy with your purchase simply let us know within 3 days and return the item within 7 days.

Item must be in original condition. We will process and issue a refund of the purchase price within 48 hours of receipt. Returns are not permitted after 7 days. Layaway items cannot be returned for a refund or exchange.

For International returns please follow the return procedure below.

Items returned outside the terms of this policy will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes we do! Drop us a line with your requirements and we notify you of the cost involved should you chose that option. We offer Royal Mail Guaranteed by 1pm Next Day for our UK customers and Global Express and Global Priority for our international clients.

How do I return an item from abroad?

Return the item with the original packaging AND invoice by FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL tracked via the POST OFFICE. Do not use Priority or Express Mail. Contact us with the tracking number.

It is imperative that you mark the customs declaration "RETURNED GOODS" Failure to do so may result in the item being held in customs and import duty charged before delivery will be completed. We can apply to have this charge reversed but it may result in an unnecessary delay of your refund. Failure to comply may result in you being charged for the customs fees which are simply avoidable should you use the correct return procedure.
