Elegantly functional and beautifully durable

Meredith graduated with a dual BFA degree in Art and Art Education from the University of Georgia. Meredith worked as a field instructor mentoring at risk children in the Utah wilderness and interned at Yestermorrow sustainable architecture/design school in Vermont, before teaching art full time in Athens and Atlanta, GA.

In 2010 Meredith completed a sustainable rural development internship with Tillers International in Michigan. Many of the skills Meredith learned on the farm, such as spinning, weaving, and blacksmithing, have found a place in her studio practice. Learning to farm with draft animals exposed her to the world of non electric machinery and her mixed media sculptures often reference tools and processes displaced by the modern era. In all of Meredith's artwork sustainable materials and processes are used with an emphasis on intricate craftsmanship necessary to create functional and durable goods.

From 2011 to 2012 Meredith participated in the Stone Mountain Arts Incubator Program in the historic Stone Mountain Village. The Smart Inc. program is Georgia’s only micro enterprise program using the arts as a tool for economic revitalization by offering the historic storefronts to artists for studios and galleries.

Meredith now lives in the South Carolina's Sumter National Forest where she works as a studio artist and designer.
Her current focus is her line of leather travel bags, Nomad Travel Gear.
