Another beautiful piece of art I have been fortunate enough to have been able to purchase from Merging Story. Particularly love this dove because of its reference to America. Have purchased several others of theirs and they are all interesting and unique. All have been gifts but this one I may just keep for myself!
They are super to work with and will fulfill most “wishes” if possible.
Please take time to give them a look see!!!

This is just a super cool, unusual and quite beautiful piece of art. Yes, it is an ornament but quite frankly you could put it anywhere in your house and leave out all year long. Attach it to a wreath or to another item like the bottom of a frame and let it speak for itself. To be admired longer than just Christmas.
Have various pieces by the artists and love that they are MI made (home town pride). Super easy and kind people to work with. Please take the time to check out their site and if you are in Detroit-catch a viewing!

My wife and I have a tradition of buying one of the Michigan ornaments every year to symbolize an important life event for us. Unfortunately the store we always buy them from doesn’t sell them anymore, so when I hunted down Marilyn and asked if she could make one for the year we got married and one for this year when we had our baby girl. They were so amazing and so helpful and made them up and shipped them to us in no time at all, and even added a special little something! My wife and I are forever grateful to them for helping us carry on our family tradition!

About

Merging Story Pottery - 2 lives, 2 persepctives, one love

To be functional or not was never the question, rather it was what is the story, what message can we speak that will resonate with others. There is no correst answer, because we each had numerous voices to express. What we did find, is that when we combined our voices, it felt different, it created more. Sometimes more tension, sometimes more interest, sometimes more excitement, but always more value.

Pottery is the tool, the vessel for much of our expression. Everything is original (at least from our perspective) and hand crafted every step of the way. We are in the study usually 7 days a week, creating what we love and loving that we are living a life we get to create. Oh yeah, it is work, make no mistake about it. While it can be intense,it's a labor of satisfaction and we don't believe in shortcut.

We have a selection of old factory and machine letter press dies that we use to imprint our ceramic items, along with many patterns we have designed ourselves. We like to think that many of our items fall under the "Urban Pottery" heading, but you can be the judge of that.
So while we don't make mugs and coffee pots (at least not many of them) we do make many decorative items that can still be functional. Our vases hold water and the dishes can be used, yet we love that people who buy our items find their own unique way and places to display them in their homes
