Designed and handmade with pure New Zealand Merino Wool jersey fabric - the finest merino in the world. The fabrics are grown (on sheep), spun, knitted and dyed in NZ.

* 100% natural and biodegradeable

* a fine fibre - it does not irritate the skin like traditional wool. I use the softest, lightest merino wool available - you won't believe this is wool. Are you still dubious? Ask me to send you some samples so that you can feel the fabric for yourself.

* breathable (so the wearer will not overheat - particularly important for infants). You won't feel like you are wearing wool on a warm day, but when the temperature drops you'll feel the warmth. Wool is a natural fibre designed by nature to keep sheep warm in winter but cool in summer.

* warm even when wet (dribble or spills on children, drizzle) - Merino sheep are raised in harsh high country environments. They survive in the snow due to their merino wool.

* UV protection

* naturally flame retardant and self-extinguishing

* machine washable!!! Yes, you can wash a Merino Me garment in your washing machine with no fear of shrinkage, felting or pilling. It can even be tumble dried on a low heat setting if you are really short on time. Although, given the nature of the fabric, it does dry easily and quickly on a drying rack.

* a renewable, natural fibre which is ethically farmed. It is produced in free range farming systems, which are animal and environment friendly. My merino is sourced from suppliers who select their farms chosen for their commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability in farm management practices, as well as the superb quality of their Merino wool.

* durable and colour fast. Unlike cotton, you can wash and wash your Merino Me garment with no noticable colour fading or wear.

* superior insulation without bulk

* naturally odour and spill resistant - this means less washing is required than say a cotton garment

* muelsing? Not on New Zealand sheep. No muelsing.
