I love my Metal Dog! It's adorable. My son picked it from my favorites for my birthday present. He did a good job-I love what he chose. And it looks like our blue pitbull dog!

What a little beauty. He sits in my raised garden bed watching over the strings beans. I love him. Ingenious use of found objects so just buy one and you won't be disappointed.

About

The man, his welder, and some metal!

I like to weld, I like to make things. I had a bunch of scrap metal, made a cool little sculpture and traded it for some help getting an engagement ring. I found that doing metal sculpture flowed right through me and into the work. I could do it for hours and not be tired or hungry. Thirsty? Yes, welding is hot work. I love what I do for a living.
So I weld, I make clocks from hubcaps and other things that I find that I think would make cool clocks, not something you would find at the store.

Thanks for visiting metalartdude's etsy shop of original steel sculptures. I start my creative process for my sculpture by first finding scrap steel. Sometimes people give me things and sometimes I ask and receive things for making my art but mostly I find the pieces that make up my work. Once I have a large collection of steel things I start to see what the pieces look like to me and just go from there until I create a face, an animal, or an abstract wall sculpture. Other times I'm inspired to make something like a fish or cat and I work with the pieces I have available. All of my pieces are mig welded in my outdoor studio and usually have an eye hook welded on the back to easily hang on your walls. My work is suitable for inside or outside, but keep in mind that steel will rust. I let most of my pieces stay in the original state, which means it is rusted. What you see in the picture is what you get, I am always able to take more pictures and send to you if would like, contact me about this. I can make a video if you would like of a 360 degree view of a larger piece. On occasion I paint some of my work and sometimes I will grind off the rust to expose the steel and finish with a clear coat to keep it from rusting.
My artwork is original and each piece is unique.
