GENERAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS
~ The best way to prevent jewelry from tarnishing is to store your clean, dry pieces in a dry container~ Keep items separate to prevent tangling and scratching.
~ Avoid leaving your jewelry in the bathroom, as the moisture will speed up the oxidation process.
~ Minimize your jewelry's contact to chemicals such as lotions, hairspray, perfume, bleach, etc.)
CLEANING STERLING SILVER JEWELRY
To clean your sterling silver jewelry, use mild soap and water, a sterling silver polishing cloth, or a sterling silver jewelry cleaning solution. I use Hagerty Silver Clean and a polishing pad or cloth to remove tarnish. If using a cleaning solution, be careful to follow the directions and do not leave the jewelry in for too long. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
CLEANING FOR GOLD FILLED/GOLD VERMEIL JEWELRY
Please don't use jewelry cleaners on your gold filled or gold vermeil jewelry. To clean, mix mild soap and warm water, gently swish the jewelry and then dry with a soft cloth and let dry.
WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
Gold filled is made of a solid layer of gold bonded to sterling silver or a base metal, usually brass.
High quality gold-filled pieces have the same appearance as solid 14 k gold. Gold-filled jewelry, even with daily wear, will last for years. Gold filled items have a much thicker layer than gold plated items, and are also of much higher quality.
