Announcement   Metro Vintage offers an eclectic assortment of vintage handbags, shoes, clothing and jewelry. Vintage clothing in my shop range from casual to designer and are personally selected for their individual style. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail for U.S. customers and First Class Mail International for customers overseas. If you're overseas and need an item shipped faster via Priority Mail International, let me know and I will let you know how much more that will be.

Some clothing items may ship in a Tyvek envelope, polybag or bubble envelope to keep shipping weight low and save on shipping cost.

Residents of Virginia, there will be Virginia sales tax at the applicable rate for your locality applied to your purchase (not including shipping).

Welcome to my etsy store for vintage clothing and accessories.


* ABOUT VINTAGE *

Vintage items have had past lives and most are not going to be like new even though they have been pre-loved, there will be some signs of age and wear. I will try to point out any major flaws, take good photos and have good descriptions. I may occasionally miss something however.

My items are sourced from a variety of places and environments. I do clean my finds where possible and will note otherwise where it may be beyond my abilities. I will rarely use the words "Mint" or “Pristine” for my items - even if never used before, vintage items tend to have some wear from handling or even storage.

Shop inventory is stored in my smoke-free home. I do have 2 cats so please keep this in mind if you have allergies.

Payment
I accept Etsy Checkout and PayPal only. Do be sure that the shipping address listed in your PayPal or Etsy Checkout profile is correct. I generally ship to the confirmed PayPal/Etsy address only unless otherwise informed.

Please pay for your purchases when you checkout. Do pay promptly. I’ll send you a reminder if the item hasn't been paid for and I haven’t had any communication from you. I will cancel your order and relist the item in 3 days if payment isn’t received and there has been no response from you to convos or emails.
Shipping
* PACKING AND SHIPPING *

Materials:
I use a mix of new and recycled packing materials – boxes, paper, bubble wrap, catalogs etc. I do make sure they are clean though! Shipments made almost daily except for weekends and holidays. Once payment is received and cleared, I can get your item (items!) sent on its way within 3 business days, if not less. Please note that eChecks will take at least 4 business days to clear before shipment is made. I am always happy to combine shipping.

Especially Plastic:
Please note that I will almost always have your item protected in plastic even when boxed for those rare occasions when your package is delivered but it rains or snows before you can get home to retrieve it from the elements.

Shoes will also be bubble wrapped to cushion them during the shipping process.

So, yes, I will have to use plastic but I would rather have your order arrive safely and in good shape.

* U.S. SHIPPING *

Shipments will be via USPS Priority Mail. Occasionally, I will ship via USPS First Class Mail. All U.S. items are sent with Delivery Confirmation.


* INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING *

Your order will ship via USPS First Class Mail International. It costs less but it also does not have any tracking option and my proof of shipping will be my receipt from the postal service. If you would prefer to upgrade to the faster, trackable Priority Mail International option, please let me know and I will send you an email invoice for the additional shipping cost.

I'm happy to ship to most countries but please note that you will be responsible for any duties and taxes your country imposes on items you purchase from me. Sometimes, there are country restrictions on goods and I may not be able to ship an item to your country. Most of my items will not be allowed into Italy for example.

I put the actual cost of the item on the customs form and I do not inflate it by adding the cost of shipping. Please do not ask me to mark the "Gift" box on the form.
Refunds and Exchanges
* RETURNS *

Please be sure about your purchase as I do not accept returns unless I have made a grave error in listed measurements or missed a major flaw. If so, please contact me within 2 days of delivery confirmation to discuss the matter.

Do take a look at all the photos in the listing and read the descriptions - I know they can be lengthy at times but I do try my best to provide an accurate summary of each item. Do remember that color displays also vary slightly from monitor to monitor.
Additional policies and FAQs
* CUSTOMS AND DUTIABLE GOODS *

Updated July 14, 2008 - This is important to state again as some of you may not catch it in the International Shipping section - I put the actual cost of the item on the customs form and I do not inflate it by adding the cost of shipping. You will be responsible for any additional customs taxes, duties or fees which your country may impose on the goods purchased.

Please do not ask me to mark the "Gift" box on the form. It is a federal offense to do so and is punishable by a substantial fine and possible jail time. (Just in case you may not be aware of this.)


* CALIFORNIA LEAD CONTAINING JEWELRY LAW *

In order to best comply with the above stated law in California, I will no longer be able to ship vintage jewelry to California ship to addresses. My jewelry pieces may or may not contain lead and what is safest overall is to restrict my jewelry sales to California. I wish it were not this way and if you are unhappy with this, do let your legislator know and get the law changed!


* PRICING *

Prices in my shop are Firm. To keep things fair for all my customers, please do not ask me for private markdowns. I may put items on sale from time to time and those will be sold on a first come first served basis. Thank you for your consideration.


* RESERVED ITEMS *

I will gladly keep an item on reserve for a customer for 24 hours. If it is not purchased by designated customer within that time frame, the reserve listing will revert to its original open listing. This is only fair and considerate not only to me but to other customers as well who may want and be able to make a timely purchase of the item.


* TRADES *

Etsy income goes towards business expenses and bills, so at this point, I am not set up to do trades.


* NON-PAYMENT *

Should you buy something from my shop and change your mind before paying, please let me know. I will cancel the transaction and that will be that. I will NOT leave negative feedback if you let me know you wish to cancel within 2 days. However, if you don’t pay, don’t respond to my convos and don’t contact me to let me know you wish to cancel the transaction, I will leave negative feedback.

If you are having trouble checking out with PayPal, please let me know. I will work with you to try to complete the transaction.


* FEEDBACK *

I generally leave feedback shortly after an item's delivery has been confirmed. If I am away from my shop during that time, I will leave feedback upon my return.


* QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS *

To be sure that I receive all communications from my customers, please use the Contact link provided by Etsy to send me a conversation. That way nothing gets lost in spam folders. You can expect a response within 24 hours (sometimes 48 hours to 72 hours if it is the start of the weekend) unless I am away for an extended period of time, which will be stated in my shop announcement. Thank you!


* PRIVACY POLICY *

I will only use your contact information to
a) communicate with you about your order
b) let you know if I move my shop
c) fill out customs and insurance forms where applicable.
