Authentic glass jewelry, traditionally handcrafted in Venice

Miani Venetian Jewelry is a small family business designing and creating jewelry with authentic Murano Glass beads.

My name is Nicola Miani, and back in 2009 I opened my first glass jewelry shop with my sister, in Ghetto Novo, Venice. But my family is no stranger to handcrafting: my grandfather, my parents, my sister and I all experimented with different techniques and crafts - from wood and silver working to glass enamels - and I ended up devoting myself to designing jewelry with Murano glass beads.

I believe that handmade is worth the effort and that nothing made industrially will ever compare. That's why in our shop you’ll find only products handmade by us and by other esteemed artisans in Venice, using original Murano glass produced on the island of Murano.

When you buy one of our products, you buy more than just a jewel: the centuries of artistry, beauty and charm of Venice are captured in each of our handcrafted beads, and we'll make sure that you'll carry with you part of Venice's artistic legacy and of its unmistakable allure.

Frequently asked questions
Are your jewels made of Murano glass?

The Trademark Vetro Artistico® Murano is a proof of origin provided by the Veneto Region in compliance with the law 70, passed on December 23 1994. It certifies that products have been made on the island of Murano, according to glass making tradition. It is managed by Consorzio Promovetro.

Our workshop is located in Venice, in sestiere of Cannaregio, and as such cannot request this proof of origin. We assure, however, that all glass rods used by us to make our beads are made of certified glass, and that production takes place in its entirety in the island of Venice, either by us or by other esteemed venetian artisans. The techniques used in glass processing reflect the centuries-old venetian tradition of beadmaking.

Is it true that your products are completely handmade?

Yes, all glass beads are produced either by us in our worshop in Venice or by other esteemed venetian artisans. The assembly of our jewels is entirely handmade by us. Small metal components and conterie - tiny glass beads - are purchased from trusted specialized third party companies, and are clearly wholesale products, since no one produce handmade materials such as these anymore.

Are your products nickel-free?

Yes, all small metal components used in our jewels are completely nickel-free.
