THE ART
NY mixed media Artist Micci Cohan is best known for her exuberant, expressive palette and an eclectic range of styles. She is a prolific artist whose work evokes a unique timelessness transcending current trends or categorizations. Since graduating from Parsons School of Design, Cohan’s art has acquired a devoted following of collectors throughout the years that span the globe. She has been a fixture on the New York art scene since the late 1980s and has exhibited at various venues such as Fusion Arts Museum, 532 Gallery, Thomas Jaeckel Gallery, Ward-Nasse Gallery, and ADA Gallery, one time been auctioned off alongside American and European Artists including Calder, Haring, and Miro. She’s also been featured in publications such as The Art in America Annual Guide to Galleries, Museums and Artists edition, Artforum, The International Contemporary Artists Vol II, and in the NY Arts Magazine, Vol. 14. As a freelancer, she has been commissioned to do illustrations and portraits by notable clients such as the prestigious Jean Cocteau Repertory Theater, a New York City theater institution, the Indie Pop Band, Salt Cathedral and the British musician, Clay. All throughout her career she has also been devoted to creating jewelry~ see more about her jewelry below~
In 2013 she left NYC for the beautiful Long Beach, Long Island where she continued her art career.
Her current work is deeply inspired by her passion for "everything coastal" and her "Coastal Bloom" sculpture series of 2021 has as she says, "opened up a whole new myriad of excited new paths for me, I found one day while photographing them that I absolutely loved the image and so begun making prints, the first one being my "Rainbow" Coastal Bloom Print. These coastal shell blooms are made from whelk shells I hand pick from my beach and paint and arrange into bouquet sculptures".

THE JEWELRY
Micci Cohan’s passion for adornment permeates throughout her creations!
Her jewelry has gained a loyal following over the last 16 years worldwide.
Her signature Bohemian style beaded necklaces are created from an eclectic palette of colorful materials such as hand-painted beads, shells, tassels, crystals, glass, clay, wood, charms, ceramic, and various pendants.

Celebrities, as well as industry notables, have worn and collected pieces from her jewelry line. Cohan’s collection is, beautifully artistic, and expressive. Her mission is to design original pieces that inspire her customers to celebrate what is authentic about themselves, firmly believing adornment enlightens the mind and inspires the creative passion allowing every woman to express her individual personality in a very special way. Her motto: Stay fluid, stay open to being inspired, and always seek to enrich your senses, with colors, textures, and design! If you have an eye for something that will catch everyone else’s eye, these pieces are what you should be looking for; timeless, vivid creations to collect and cherish forever.

Her distinctive artistic signature in her art as well as her sense of style expresses itself equally with her jewelry. Taking elements from different cultures and the realms of antiquity and combining them with newer contemporary elements she creates something completely fresh and wholly unique.

Think contemporary new-bohemian meets tribal-ethnic-glam... Her designs are inspired by art, jewelry, fashion, music, nature, world cultures, and travel. Most recently much of her inspiration comes from living by the ocean and the beautiful finds she collects from the beach.
