Hi, I’m Michael

My name is Michael Novak, and I’m the owner/Artist of MichaelNovakArt.

My journey of creating started when I was a child. Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a deep passion for art and for creating something out of nothing. I am fascinated by the way a few brush strokes can evoke such deep emotion and thought.

With my degree in illustration from Kansas City Art Institute, I’ve studied art across the country and used my skills for a variety of careers from professionally Photoshopping images for high-end clients to creating global marketing materials. My biggest passion, though, is illustrating in my home studio where I am able to create original works.
The majority of my work is a combination of charcoal, pen, and a hint of water color. I love mixing mediums and producing realistic pieces with heavy contrast and minimal color.
I was fortunate enough to marry my best friend, and we were blessed with two children whom we adore. I do what I do for myself but also for them. To inspire them to follow their dreams, no matter how big.

My ultimate goal is to illustrate children’s books that positively impact families across the globe. I currently have something in the works, so keep your eyes peeled in the future!
