5 out of 5 starsI don't have any windows in my office, so I decided to bring the outside in. I started with this beautiful portrait of Morro Rock at sunset taken by my good friend and talented photographer Michael Todd Thorpe. You can find him on Facebook and Etsy, or just Google Michael Thorpe Photography.

I see beauty all around me...
I’ve been carrying a camera of some sort ever since I was a kid. My first camera was a Kodak Brownie. I remember saving my money and making a special trip to the drugstore for a roll of film and then asking my mom or grandmother to cover the cost of developing… In high school I started shooting and editing video, then in college I started developing and printing my own b/w stills. I’ve been carrying a digital still camera since 2004. In 2013 I left a 20+ year job as a writer/shooter/editor/producer in broadcast television to shoot photography full time and I teach photography on the side.
I still shoot black-and-white and color film from time to time. I have a collection of cameras I use including a beat-up YashicaMat 124, Olympus Trip35, Pentax K1000, Polaroid 450 Land Camera and my daily camera, a Canon EOS 30D DSLR.
In the end, it’s not about the tools you use, it’s how you use those tools to fulfill your vision.

I can't remember a time when I haven't been taking photographs. I started as a kid with a Kodak Brownie, progressed to a Pentax K1000 in college and in 2004 started shooting with a digital SLR.
