Questo business è particolarmente gratificante per me perché mio nonno (Joe) e i suoi fratelli hanno venduto la maggior parte di questi pezzi la prima volta!
Negli anni quaranta, hanno aperto "Modern Home and Appliance" a Chambersburg, PA. È rimasto in famiglia, nello stesso edificio in cui è iniziata la loro avventura, fino al 2019.
Poco dopo l'apertura, mia nonna (Sylvia) è stata informata che gli oggetti d'antiquariato in casa avrebbero dovuto essere sostituiti con i nuovi design ultra moderni venduti nel negozio.
La prossima casa di Sylvia era la metà del secolo come vengono, sia nel design che nell'arredamento. Dalle rumorose porte a fisarmonica in ogni stanza, ai divani arancioni fluttuanti su basi in zoccolo in noce, alla lampada genio danzante Moss. Avevano tutto, incluso un tagliente tavolino in cromo e vetro nero in stile Milo Baughman che ha letteralmente lasciato il segno sulla maggior parte di noi bambini. . .
La loro casa era sempre piena di parenti, amici, cocktail e risate!
Ora ogni giorno al lavoro sembra di tornare lì.
Con così tanta eredità e una reputazione così solida da sostenere, è importante per me che ogni cliente sia entusiasta del proprio acquisto, impressionato dal modo in cui facciamo affari e così felice della loro esperienza che incoraggiano i loro amici a venire a trovarci.
Non vedo l'ora di fare affari con voi fornendo pezzi di qualità che hanno già resistito alla prova del tempo.

We rescue great pieces of the past so that they may live again!
This business is especially gratifying for me because my grandfather (Joe) and his brothers sold most of these pieces the first time around!
In the forties, they opened "Modern Home and Appliance" in Chambersburg, PA. It remained in the family, in the same building where their adventure began, until 2019.
Soon after the opening, my grandmother (Sylvia) was informed that the antiques in the house would now have to be be replaced with the new ultra modern designs sold in the store.
Sylvia's next home was as mid century as they come, both in design and décor. From the loud accordion doors on every room, to the floating orange sofas on walnut plinth bases, to the Moss dancing genie lamp. They had it all, including a sharp Milo Baughman style chrome and black glass coffee table that literally left it's mark on most of us kids...
Their home was always filled with relatives, friends, cocktails, and laughter!
Now each day at work feels like going back there.
With so much heritage, and such a solid reputation to uphold, it is important to me that every customer is thrilled with their purchase, impressed with how we do business, and so delighted by their experience that they encourage their friends to come see us.
