We rescue great pieces of the past so that they may live again!
This business is especially gratifying for me because my grandfather (Joe) and his brothers sold most of these pieces the first time around!
In the forties, they opened "Modern Home and Appliance" in Chambersburg, PA. It remained in the family, in the same building where their adventure began, until 2019.
Soon after the opening, my grandmother (Sylvia) was informed that the antiques in the house would now have to be be replaced with the new ultra modern designs sold in the store.
Sylvia's next home was as mid century as they come, both in design and décor. From the loud accordion doors on every room, to the floating orange sofas on walnut plinth bases, to the Moss dancing genie lamp. They had it all, including a sharp Milo Baughman style chrome and black glass coffee table that literally left it's mark on most of us kids...
Their home was always filled with relatives, friends, cocktails, and laughter!
Now each day at work feels like going back there.
With so much heritage, and such a solid reputation to uphold, it is important to me that every customer is thrilled with their purchase, impressed with how we do business, and so delighted by their experience that they encourage their friends to come see us.
