Hello and Welcome to Middle Fish Designs!

My name is Jason Herring and I am the middle son of three Herring boys, thus I am the "Middle Fish" of my family. I am also a loyal and loving husband to a Teacher; we have been very happily married for almost 19 years, and I am a father to three amazing children. My Faith comes first, Second are my family and friends. Thirdly I place my work. All else comes after, accordingly. I have always done my level best to adhere to these guidelines.

Throughout my life I have had an interest in Artistic and creative things, but have not really had a good outlet for my creativity and artistic ability. Over the years I have made various gifts for Church, Family, Friends and for work, but I have never had the time to make more than a few creations hear and there. I am now taking some time to discern whether I can in fact make a go of selling my creations and THIS Etsy store is just a beginning to my creative journey.

I have always had strong interest in making Jewelry, Creating with Color, Cosplay Prop Building, Cake Sculpting, Electronics Projects, Woodworking, and as I like to put it, Tinkering in general. I have been known to design my own props and work-space accouterments rather than purchase off the shelf pre-fabbed items. I love making interesting finds and using unusual components for alternate purposes. Anything can be a tool!

"Why now?" is a question I have been getting from some. My answer is, "if not now then when?". In all seriousness, we lost my mother in law due to an horrific traffic collision recently. My eldest daughter was also involved in the accident but very thankfully only incurred minor injury. My wife however now has no parents. I am fortunate to still have both and that is more to the point as to "Why Now?". This loss has brought into stark reality how very fragile life is and that we never know when our last moment with a loved one will be. My plan is actually two fold: 1) Get My Etsy Store up and Running, and 2) Help my aging parents in their Mom 'n Pop Style Engraving store here in San Antonio, TX.

Initially I will be providing various jewelry type products to include Coin Rings, Necklaces, Pendants, Charms, Rosaries, and really anything that comes to mind creatively that I feel will fit in with all of my hand made objects. Later and as my design studio evolves I will be creating various props for general and Cosplay use. I will also be turning things on a lathe, machining thins with a mill, and in Tinkering my way to a full blown Etsy Shop.

I am most thankful for your very kind attention (especially if you have made it this far), I am optimistic that you will join me in my journey to, and through creativity.
