About Middlemist Makes

Discover an ever-growing collection of handmade needle felted home décor, jewellery and accessories, inspired by the beautiful English countryside.

It’s so lovely to have you here, my name is Emma and I am the designer maker behind Middlemist Makes. I create incredibly detailed pictures using only 100% pure wool. Each piece is created by meticulously layering and blending small pieces of wool to create shapes, highlights and tones, the wool fibres are then secured into place with a special barbed needle. From a distance these pictures could be mistaken for paintings, but on closer inspection there’s a delicate textual and lifelike charm about them. This process takes hours, but the magical soft and enchanting effect it creates is worth waiting for.

All items are designed and made with so much love by me, in my craft room based in Oxfordshire. I hope you find something you love! I am always more than happy to help in any way that I can, so please feel free to get in touch, I aim to get back to you within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

Keep your jewellery away from Moisture, this could cause it to lose its shape as water tends to make the wool shrink. If water does come into contact with your jewellery, just gently dab it away with a cloth and leave it to air dry.

I have made every effort to ensure that the parts are attached securely, but it’s advisable not to pull or tug at any limbs etc.

I advise keeping your jewellery in a box with a lid when it’s not being worn to prevent it from getting dusty.

Keep out of reach of pets and small children as the items do have small parts that may be a chocking hazard.
