This picture is not worth a thousand words. As I said in the other reviews, the colors are so much more rich. More red than purple. Wonderful silk and wool. Both soft and warm and stylish. Perks up any outfit. This one went to another friend who is a costumer who is very particular so I was curious to see her reaction. She loves it. Whew! Thank you again, Charlene. ;o)

Gorgeous bright colors that remind me of oceans and beaches in the tropics. My friend absolutely loves it. She helped me a lot this fall on a project so I wanted to spoil her for Christmas with one of Charlene's creations. It worked. Thank you Charlene!

When I gave this scarf to my friend it was at her dinner party with only women. They all immediately asked where I got it because it was so unusual and beautiful. All of Charlene's products have to be seen in person to really appreciate the quality and creativeness.

Finally I have a hat my husband will let me wear when I'm with him. The wool used in this scarf and hat are thick and warm. High quality and well made. Charlene is amazing with her color blend. And so creative in her design. It was hard to decide which one of her hats to get and I am so happy with this choice. Everyone comments on how beautiful they are.

Charlene’s Story and Journey towards being Mindful and giving Presents of her work.

"Born in South Africa, I spent my early years there, as well as in Europe, before emigrating to the United States thirty years ago. I incorporate many aspects of my multi-cultural background into my and creations; The vibrant colors of Africa, the simplicity and elegance of my English/Scandinavian family back-ground, as well the theatrical dynamic of my education in drama and costume design.

Working part time as a Registered Nurse, in Critical Care, I try to find time to express my creativity, including customized teddy bears, hand painted and embroidered prayer shawls, baby blankets and silk wall hangings. Most recently my theatrical roots have manifested themselves in the form of whimsical, exotic, fantasy crowns that can be worn for special occasions, dress up, or even weddings.

I would like all people to feel beautiful and special, transported to a magical world when putting one of these ‘Crowning Glories on their heads’, or a ’Sacred Shawl’ or hand painted silk scarf around their shoulders.

The focus of my work is really quite spiritual, especially when I am painting on silk. The work becomes a sort of meditation. The focus of my life is spiritual, meaning, a focus on kindness towards all life, and the understanding that there is something greater than us, which can take many forms. I would love to know that when people put on my creations, they think inward for a moment and experience a sense of peace and overwhelming love. My small part in trying to make this world a better place.”

Charlene lives in Mill Valley with her husband of 24 years, two beautiful border collies, and two new kittens. She has two wonderful children who are now grown and navigating this life and finding out more about how they can contribute to the world.

Thank you for reading this, which will hopefully inspire you to be all you can be.

Welcome to my store. I make beautiful things, from silk paintings, called Silk Dreams to cuddly teddy bears (Bear Souls) Handmade fantasy dolls, and crocheted items.
I have made ’things by whole life, but many years of working, and raising children caused me to put some of my creative energy on hold. Now with two grown children, I can once again explore the depths of my creative soul.
My goal is to spread happiness. I believe that if I do what I love people will fee it and respond in kind. Each item comes with a message, an inspiration, a mantra for you to make your life more meaningful and fulfilling. I like to know a little about the people for whom these items are destined.
Our world needs peaceful, loving images and thoughts these days.
